Very knowledgeable and detailed – I had issues with declining kidney function and iron absorption. 3 doctors could not figure out why. I completed an hour consult with the dietician. She listened to my issue, reviewed what details I had (including a recent blood test result)and was then able to figure out different options to try which ultimately ended up being the solution. She… Read more
gave me a few changes to make in my diet and within 3 weeks my kidney function improved and my iron absorption increased. I could not rate her highly enough. Excellent manner, professional, made you feel so comfortable and great knowledge.
Good – I followed the work out part only and not the diet for this. When i say did not do the diet i mean buy the shakes etc. I ate small meals and did the work outs the way that they said and i can tell you my body did change for the better! Great results and after i have this next baby i will be back following it again If you already go to the gym and… Read more
work out you find that this is a better way of doing it with quicker results than what you were already doing! Not many really... You have to stick with it or it wont work and the actually diet part is a bit over priced.
Brilliant program, easy to follow and guaranteed results if you stick with it – I'm 9 weeks into the 12 week challenge posed in the books and I've lost 8kg (from 98 to 91kgs) and 4.5 inches off my waist (from 38 to 33.5), I've also put on a significant amount of muscle. The diet and exercice programme is simple enough for a beginner to understand and there is a website forum if you have any questions. I didn't buy all the… Read more
shakes as they are quite expensive but you can replicate this by getting some protein powder (Coles sell it pretty cheaply). Eating 6 times a day takes some getting used to but at least it means that you are never hungry. All in all I'll use this program as the basis of my fitness routine for the rest of my life so I think its a great investment in your health. Easy to follow, effective results Supplements specified are expensive
A Program That Really Works No Matter What Size or Fitness Level You Are – I did the Body For Life program as a challange at my old gym which was you paid a certain amount of money and was assigned to trainer for 6 days a week and provided with all the Body For Life books and the winner judge by the gym woiuld win $10,000. I started at 68kg, size 10-12 and a massive 28% body fat. The program was great it didnt make… Read more
you so sore that you couldnt work out the next day, i didnt make you tired becuase you are eating minimal food it was really easy to follow.
I followed the program by the book and so did my trainer the hard thing was no alcohol really and I did the prgram through spring so I had a lot of weddings, events and places that there was drinking. The best thing about the program was my trainer was able to accomodate this with special body for life training techniques.
Its covers cardio and weights and I know that women always think we shouldnt do weights or we will bulk up, but these exercises just helped me lean up so much all over my body and it felt amazing wearing a singlet and shorts and not having any wobbley bits.
I finsihed the program after 3 months which was how long the challange was for and even though i didnt win the $10,000 I still felt like it was the best money I spent. I dropped to a size 8, 60.5kg and an amazing 9% bodyfat and my measuments were so good. I lost a total of 19cm from my waiste and did i notice the difference in my work skirts and i had to wear belts with them.
I didnt put all the weight back on as soon as it was over, it really motivated me to stay focused with my training and Body For Life teaches you so many things that you can go and do all of these on your own. really works, great results, easy to follow food expensive only becasue i did it with a personal trainer
OK – Didn't lose weight, didn't gain weight, so probably didn't stick to it long enough I guess, but this is similar to a lot of other weight loss plans out there, and I do like the idea of the 'cheat' day, I think it does help keep you 'sane' and eventually you won't want to cheat that often as you do feel sick when you eat healthy most the time, so… Read more
you will think twice about eating fish and chips next time around. Whoever said diets DON'T work is lying, coz diets do work if you follow them correctly, you will lose weight (unless u have a medical condition or something)....keeping the weight off is a whole 'nother story........ Doable Recipes were yuck (IMO)
Excellent – Overall this program really worked for me. I gained a lean body, loads of energy and changed my eating & exercise habits for life. I highly recommend the body for life. I loved this program and gained a mean lean body. Taking a before picture and knowing you have to send that after picture helps with commitment. It was simple to follow and I… Read more
didn't have to spend hours in the gym. The eating regime was simple and having a cheat day allowed me to stay good for the rest of the days. Seeing other peoples before and after photos was also very inspiring. Although the program was simple it was not easy. You have to commit to training 6 days a week. But there's no real shortcuts to an amazing body. Eating 6 small meals a day took forward planning and I sometimes forgot to eat every 2-3 hrs. I didn't like the push to use their products. I didn't and still lost the weight.
Bad – I do not know why I bothered buying the book. I have now handed it away to someone else's bookshelf to collect dust. Tries to promote healthy lifestyle. Expensive. Creates more of an image paranoia with before and after photos - creates suspicion whether the people had any chemical enhancements.
Bad – Metabolic problems excluded, weight loss dieting is a fairly simple procedure. Eat and drink fewer calories than you expend. Easy to say, hard to do!! This diet says you have to exercise less than four hours per week, an attractive prospect to most of us! Eat smaller meals more often, good advice. Eat your fave foods? What if your fave food is… Read more
pavlova and you have a job sitting answering phones in a call centre? Not going to work. And lets be truthful, does the guy on the cover LOOK like he exercises less than four hours a week? Hmmmmm........... Sounds great, easy and something anyone could manage. Nothing is that easy!!!! If it was, no one would ever try another diet, or need to, again.
