Bondall Drive-On Paving Paint

What a waste of time and money – I purchased 8 litres of granite grey from masters and was told to just apply two coats by paint specialist in store. I was pleased with the result....until I drove my Honda HRV on to it and was shocked to see the surface had lifted leaving tyre prints. [Name Removed] insisted that it was because I had not diluted the first coat with turps to encourage adhesion. Granted, I didn't read the fine print but relied on Masters paint service.
He said I need to remove the paint and start again!!!! I am not able to buy the product locally and might need to drive a long distance, if I find a supplier. This product needs to be removed from sale.
Poor quality product and staff – Early this year I purchased a 4 litre tin of Bondall concrete floor paint and followed the instructions before applying the product on my garage floor. Unfortunately, I experienced a problem with the paint lifting. I contacted the office and spoke to [Name Removed]. He explained it could be a production problem and would arrange with the factory and quality control. He was to contact me with the results.
Some weeks passed with no contact so I phoned [Name Removed] again and his explanation was "I can't explain why" and offered a replacement tin of product for my inconvenience and requested my address to send it to.
After about four weeks, I contacted [Name Removed] again to be told he had lost my address but assured me the replacement tin would be dispatched ASAP.
It has been four weeks since my last phone call to [Name Removed] and either BONDALL use a very slow courier service or they are not interested in customer problems.
Fantastic product, built in non slip is a big tick! – Used this product to paint my concrete driveway & paving leading up to the front of the house. Gave the concrete an etch first with some Hydrochloric Acid, let it dry for a few days before doing two coats of Drive on Paving Paint purchased at my local Home Timber & Hardware. Built in non skid was difficult to mix in at first but once I got it mixed up went on like a charm has been down 6 months with no issues driving a large 4WD & smaller sedan on it.
Colour: Granite Grey
Total rubbish - don't buy it! – I painted the concrete floor of my verandah with this product. I was careful and thorough with my preparation and applied it exactly as directed on the can. Within 6 weeks the paint was wearing away - from foot traffic only. (As I live alone this isn't a lot of foot traffic.) 3 months later it looks appalling! I cannot understand how Bondall sell it as being as suitable for driveways.
My recommendation would be to save yourself a lot of money and time and don't buy Bondall Drive-On Paving Paint - it's rubbish!
Should be taken off the market, not fit for purpose – This paint has some good points. The paint sticks to the concrete ok. You can walk and drive on it ok. BUT DON'T PARK YOU CAR ON IT! It's as if the rubber reacts in some way with the paint, leaving a mark that cannot be removed with 'normal' cleaning products. We also like to support Australian companies, but it's hard to support a company that offers this sort of response when notified of the problem.
They say to try cleaning with sugar soap, rubbing alcohol or magic eraser sponge, and try parking your caravan on a mat.
Very sad that an Aussie company firstly markets a paint product that's not entirely fit for purpose and secondly does not respond to a fair complaint with any reasonable offer of restitution.
I hear that Berger has a drive way paint that works.
PS Bondall did finally refund after much discussion. Hope they spend some money on product development!
