ZERO STARS! this company is a HORRIBLE company! DO NOT USE THEM! very tedious and cannot get in touch with them! Even the venue where I bought the tickets got rid of them because of the complaints and problems with them. They should NOT be able to do business in the US or anywhere for that matter!
Absolute scam!! Bought through Ticketmaster and was unable to attend the concert due to my mother’s unexpected death, they requested a copy of her death certificate for a $120 refund. I have used other ticket insurers before and they were amazing. Booking Protect is con artists!!!
These people are an absolute disgrace, don’t waste your money you basically have to prove the earth is round to get $25 back. My son bought his sister a ticket as a gift. She has a medical condition but had a flare the day before and couldn’t go. I even got a medical certificate and it still wasn’t good enough for these scammers!

Absolute scammers!! They work for moshtix in australia. I have sick mother in my care all of a sudden and needed a refund for tickets. Paid insurance as well. Provided hospital records and all details and apparently not enough even though we had insurance. Got treated like criminals in our toughest times. You shouldn't have to provide any details for insured tickets. Imagine how awful these people are to profit from someone's pain.
Deceptive and unfair refund process – Absolutely horrific. Doesn’t actually give you an easy refund but requires extensive documentation and won’t accept at-home covid tests for covid-related refunds. Make sure you really really can go to the event you booked before confirming!!
Total scam 100% ripoff - Run, don't walk away – This company is a total scam. Promoted by unwitting partners world wide - mine was from the Motorsporttickets.com for the Austrian Gran Prix 2023. Unable to attend due to family illness, denied our claim for an endless stream of ridiculous fantasies - even though all documents, including medical were supplied. SCUM OF THE EARTH.
BEWARE: Scam company. Will not pay out – Dodgy Scamming UK company Operating in Australia. I Purchased booking protect insurance for tickets. My GrandFather passed away 3 days before the event, his funeral was the day before the event and memorial during the event. They say it only includes immediate family. Grand parents by Australia legislation and definition are immediate family. They… Read more
say "my definition of immediate family" is not their definition and will not cover. If you are Operating in Australia, Selling insurance to Australians for Australian events being Held in Australia you should be abiding by Australian laws and definitions. I will be taking this further with Australian Consumer affairs. Disgusting money thieving company.
Mislead and Scam the Public on Oztix – My experience will be shown on all public platforms in regards to your misleading information of Booking Insurance. It’s absolutely disgraceful rejecting self Employed those who are now unemployed due to Covid . We are made redundant in our employment and our applications are rejected for refund . My story will be submitted to all media for… Read more

Positive reviews
My claim was genuine and was approved. A huge Thankyou to booking protect as they had an extremely difficult time getting external confirmation from the person who generated my supporting document that my redundancy documents were legitimate. Thankyou for assessing my claim as genuine. As soon as I entered my bank details, the money went straight into my account.
Refund accepted – Refund was processed and cleared within five days. Website was tricky to navigate and upload documents was glitchy though. I accidentally uploaded the same documents 3 times each trying to get it to work, while it said there was an error.
Great service no problems – Booking protect looked after me and gave me all the cover I needed Put my claim in and within 3 days l receive the response asking for a bank details. Easy process and thanks for looking after me and my health
Negative reviews
Shocking! Do not pay for this, it’s a complete joke. They request so much proof/information and keep moving the bar. It’s a rip off. Make sure you can attend your even the chances if getting your refund is slim.
Purchased Booking Protect in good faith and had a claim rejected despite providing hospital medical records confirming an acute injury requiring treatment. Booking Protect refused the claim on the basis that the hospital documentation did not explicitly state I was “unable to attend the event”, despite the fact that hospitals do not issue… Read more
fitness-to-attend or retrospective attendance letters. They insisted on a separate GP letter instead, creating an unreasonable and impractical evidentiary hurdle after the fact.
This feels less like genuine protection and more like a claims process designed to discourage payouts through technicalities rather than assess real-world circumstances.
I would strongly caution others to read the fine print and understand that even legitimate medical events supported by hospital records may not be accepted.
Very disappointing experience.
Incredibly slow process. I have been unfortunate enough to have missed a few events in the past. Each time, with various other companies, the refund process was smooth and swift. So far, a week to hear from them, noe they are 'verifying'' my medical certificate. This apparently, is scheduled to be followed up in a week's time, and then, if they… Read more
have heard from the practice, they will decide. If not, they will follow up again. What's the point of providing a certificate if they don't believe it. Would not happily us this company again. X-cover are way more efficient.

This company should be investigated, and their Australian owners Cover More should be held liable for the fraud perpetrated. A highlight - being guided to provide a generic doctor's note with not specifics to proceed with a refund; providing instead a detailed doctor's note from a specialist on headed and branded letterhead; and being rejected. … Read more
To be specific - apparently having to be 12,000km away for a critical specialist treatment for a long standing chronic condition, verified through documentation, is insufficient. I encourage either this company or Cover More to reconsider and contact me directly - I am so disgusted and furious that I will make it a mission to continue, and escalate this, for as long as it takes. Absolutely repugnant, disgusting, doesn't even begin to cover it.
IMPORTANT. WARNING. 1 star is too high. Will NOT refund you unless you give 4-5 officially notorized documents of proof. Just absolutely shameful and disgraceful company that I will never work with again.
I'd rate them Zero stars if I could. They are an absolutely SCAM and do NOT care about their customers. They find bogus excuses to avoid paying out legitimate claims. DO NOT USE!!
Absolute waste of money. I tried to get a refund for tickets as my granddaughter is ill, with something she caught at daycare. Because I couldn’t produce a doctors certificate it was denied. Australian companies should be ashamed of themselves for promoting this dodgy business
I received a refund from Booking Protect, though it was reduced by a £16 fee plus an additional £20 deduction, without any clear explanation for the latter. This was particularly ironic given how meticulous Booking Protect was in demanding precise documentation from me. If you are not 99.9% certain you will attend an event and are unwilling to… Read more
engage in a highly detailed claims process, I would strongly advise against using Booking Protect.
I booked tickets for a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in January 2025, scheduled for early March. However, in early February, I was given an NHS surgery appointment, and my recovery period coincided with the event date. As soon as I received my surgery date, I contacted Booking Protect. They insisted I obtain a letter from my GP, even though I was having surgery. I provided my surgery confirmation letter, and after the procedure, I uploaded my hospital discharge letter.
Despite my surgeon advising a two-week recovery, Booking Protect arbitrarily claimed it should only take a couple of days. Apparently, they consider themselves medical professionals, capable of determining recovery times better than actual surgeons. They then demanded proof of my recovery duration. Fortunately, my surgeon provided a supporting letter, which I uploaded along with proof of payment.
The claim was finally approved, and the refund was deposited into my account the next day. However, if you ever need to claim a refund, be prepared for a frustrating and highly detailed process. It will not be easy.
Waste of money – A letter from my orthopaedic consultant wasn’t acceptable, it had to be a letter from my GP. How ridiculous is this. The protection was a waste of money and I’ll not be able to attend the concert in the Royal Albert Hall as I’ll be on crutches . No lee way, no empathy.
No understanding – I requested a refund through your company which was refused without understanding individual circumstances. I am really disappointed with Booking Protect. I always purchased extra insurance with my tickets for any reason I don’t make it. On this one and only occasion my friend who is over 85 years of age couldn’t make a show due to having the… Read more
seasonal flu who was ill in bed and couldn’t make the show. We purchased over the counter medicine and kept the recipe. However when I went to get a refund it was refused as I needed evidence from GP on headed paper. This illness did not require GP intervention and as you all know how hard it is to get an appointment- plus when I asked for a letter from the GP it was costing more than the tickets. With all this explained to the company still no refund as I didn’t have a GP letter. I had similar situation last year and another company were happy with the receipt and offered full refund- I even asked for half and they still refused. Booking protect shown very little understanding or remorse.
Booking Protect Are Scammers – Warning Never Ever use Booking Protect if you pay insurance for Tickets . They Just Refuse to Pay Up even after you Provide Ample Medical Documents . And Dcumentation from a Pathology Service with Test Results DR Certificate stating unable to Travel or Attend Social Events Yet Booking Protect Won't Pay Up This Company is A Greedy Money Hungry Scam
Waste Of Money – Yes, as per everyone's else's damming reviews, waste of time and money, you need a doctors note for each person which costs £30.00 per person! The tickets were £43.00 so a waste of time and effort to get £13.00 back...Scammers I say
Don’t use this “service”!! – Provided strong medical documentation and they refused to acknowledge as sufficient proof. DONT use this “service”! If you have a legitimate reason you better think again. Unless you are 100% certain you’re going to make an event don’t take up this offer of a refund if you can’t make it. Zero stars isn’t an option here, which is what they deserve.
SCAM ARTISTS – It's unbelievable that we just get to know it's a freaking scam after we spend our money! How do ticketmaster allows this?!!!!! I bought a ticket to see dj Afrojack at LIV club in Miami but my flight got delayed and I ended up missing the concert. Even with proof from my original flight and landing time, they still refused to refund me! HORRIBLE COMPANY!
SCAM!!!!! – Zero Stars- this is a scam. Don’t waste your money. Had family visiting Darwin from NSW. My Brother in laws mother died unexpectedly. Had taken this insurance that was attached to the booking site. Go figure!
Terrible – Terrible - useless company that does not provide refunds for when you really need it. No point in this insurance at all- it doesn’t cover anything useful and their terms and conditions are so vague that they can claim they do not need to provide a refund for most things
Booking direct Scam – Please see below. It is impossible to get a doctor to sign a note saying you were well enough if they had not examined you that day Gangsters "This would also need to confirm that at the time of booking (10th March 2024) they were well enough to attend this event and that any decline in health would have been unforeseen at this time."
Waste. Of. Money – Absolute waste of money. My sister and I were due to see a band in Canberra, Australia however our close friend passed away and we had to be in Newcastle for the funeral on the day of the concert. Despite proving that I had spoken at the funeral and clearly the connection was very close, my refund was denied. Unbelievable that their terms and… Read more
conditions do not extend to this circumstance. Will never purchase ‘protection’ from this company again, and I will be urging others to avoid too.
Not interested just a con – In theory, the idea of protecting your booking with additional charge just in case the unfortunate happens is a great idea. The problem is all they interested in is not refunding any money in any circumstance . I had to go for an emergency operation to identify cancer and this was not a valid excuse for not attending the viewing despite me… Read more
providing letters from the hospital stating the time and the date was directly clashed with the viewing. The so objective seems not to give any refunds in any circumstances whatsoever, Just getting them to reply to you is a major achievement.
Absolute con – Absolute con. Despite having a sick note and a letter from my doctor, the claims team found a ridiculous loop hole and declined my claim. There is no one to talk to, it’s all via a portal, and there’s no complaint or appeal procedure. I will be going to trading standards
Booking protect, more like daylight robbery – I purchased booking protection from the ticket vendor. Could no longer attend due to duty duty. Provided my jury summons and because it was not date specific and covered "the entire 4 week period" which went into dates of the event I booked they still wouldn't honour that. Asked to escalate the issue with another staff supervisor from booking… Read more
protect. All they did was stick to their "refund policy guideline" which states provide evidence they ask for. Which really is open to interpretation.
I highly recommend emailing Ticketmaster and asking them to stop doing business with this company.
Would have been no stars if there was an option – Much the same as all the other comments. I’m UK based and I will be contacting the Financial Conduct Authority who regulate this shameful company. Offered to refund 2 tickets out of 4 apparently everyone in my party needed to be I’ll, not just me RIDICULOUS
DO NOT PURCHASE – This is a scam they wait over 3 weeks to tell you you need more proof of a storm. winter warnings from state and police are not enough they want specific road closures on your way to the venue . You will never get your money back from here don't purchase
Misleading People – Disgusting my granddaughter was rushed to hospital and we managed to change panto tickets and then my daughter got covid for the date we rearranged panto and this shambles of a company are asking for the covid test and doctors letter nearly 2 weeks after having covid .
