I am really disappointed on this tool. I ordered it because I wanted something more durable as I was planning on using it often and I trusted the Bosch brand. After only one month of use the nozzle came apart (seems like the glue that was holding the tip to the base melted). While replacement nozzles are available, turns out that they cost almost… Read more
as much as a new gun, and on top of that they are not available at my local hardware store. So that means I would have to order online the already expensive replacement nozzle and pay for shipping. I was expecting better from Bosch and I do not recommend this tool.
Good glue gun. Not perfect though – Had mine for 3-4 years, used occasionally , together with a 20-pack (approx) of Bosch black glue sticks. I got about halfway through that pack before it failed. Perhaps it was my occasional use of non-brand, but my glue gun began to flex open (the whole case) whenever I squeezed the trigger. Eventually it failed with a loud BANG (probably… Read more
internal fuse), though this was likely my fault for leaving it side-down on the desk for a minute, overheated. I've read several places that non-Bosch or cheaper brand sticks can harden inside the gun and cause it to fail,
Its better than 90% of Glue Guns on the market, but I believe it could be made better still.
Worth the money! – Yes, quality does cost more. After "burning" through two cheaper glue guns, I bit the bullet and spent more than double, on this Bosch unit......It's brilliant! It does take a little while to warm up.....5 - 7 min, but it features a dripless nozzle, and an thin pointed glue outlet for precision gluing! The unit doesn't flex when really pushing the… Read more
trigger hard, and the wire stand is just that little more wide to keep it upright. It's $60 - $70 on eBay. and comes with a two year warranty for domestic use. Can't beat that!
Don't use other brands of glue – The gun is excellent and works really well however like the review before, I was recommended at Bunnings to use the Crescent brand of glue because they had no stock of the Bosch glue. At first it seemed to be okay, but the next time I went to use it, it was hard inside the head and would not flow. I pulled the gun apart but the heating unit is sealed. Now thrown in bin. My advice....only use Bosch glue.
Love this thing, don't use crap glue – I've had one of these for 2 years. Used cheap hotglue in it, left it on for 3 days. Still hot as hell at the end of this but the cheap glue harden in the gun and ruined it! Stay away from crap glue!
Excellent tool for what I needed – I bought the glue gun because of the pointed nose to get into small areas and openings and it has worked so well for that, been using it for years now. Heats up quickly compact and easy to use. Looked for others on the market and couldn;t find that long nose feature so this tool was the go.
Excellent high temp glue gun! – Purchased only yesterday, but has definitely outperformed other high temp guns I've used in the past. Non-drip feature is great, and the outside of the gun doesn't seem to get overly hot which is very useful with small children around. While more expensive than other alternatives, I think the quality is there for the money. fast heatup,… Read more
minimal pressure required for trigger, fine point, very minimal dripping, low body temperature, decent cord length. No issues with the gun at all thus far. Only complaint as such would be that the long length "genuine" Bosch glue sticks are very expensive but I've tested another brand in it and it worked very well.
