Waste of time a money – Such bad product. The strings all snaped after only 2 years. It was so expensive to install, and now it can just be sent to the bin. Impossible to find parts or specs to replace the strings. How can they design a product that is supposed to be outside with constant open/shut that will just not withstand weather or firction and impossible to repair! 2 fly screens cost us $5000 and now they are useless. To me it's a scam to create jobs for installers who constantly come repair a rubbish product.

Absolute rubbish ! – Absolute rubbish ! We are on our second screen, and the same thing has happened to both screens. The horizontal strings snapped and the door has strings hanging loose. I contacted Allegion six months ago, they contacted me to say the door would be repaired under warranty. I’m still waiting, with no answers to my emails anymore. I have escalated my warranty claim to the Consumer Protection Department and am hoping they will have more luck that me dealing with the company. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT buy this product.

I feel I must give credit where credit is due. Since I posted my review I have been contacted by a repair person and my screen has been repaired. To perfect working order. With great friendly and helpful service. At the moment, my door is working just as it was intended. Very happy with the service by Allegion.

Ok product but blows out in wind – Product is ok, discreet when folded away. Unfortunately it blows out of track pretty easily, defeating the purpose of a screen. Wouldn’t really consider the product to be fit for purpose. It’s a bit of a surprise considering the price tag attached to this product. Cost 50% more to have it installed on our doors

Waste of money – Our Brio retractable screen lasted just 12 months. It was suggested that it was a bad install as the horizontal strings simply snapped. The problem was trying to get someone to fix the screen. A company "rep" simply took a look at some photos and advised me that I should install a new one at nearly $2,00. After trying to get a resolution for a couple of years on and off I finally sent one last email to the company asking for any help or who may be certified to fix (there was no way I was paying for a new screen). We have now decided to simply take out the Brio screen and take it to the dump where it belongs. There are much better products on the market.

Brio 8 string 612 Retractable Pleated Insect Screen – I have had 3 of these screens installed in the last 8 years, 1 by the builder's contact ( Thru Stegbar ) who was doing the reno on our house. Then the 2nd one by an independent guy recommended by Centaur screens. These first 2 installs well the 1st one lasted 4 years before the untrained house dog got to it ( our fault ) & we persevered a year longer with it till it totally died. The other lasted <3 Years and this was installed by a Supposedly Brio trained guy who now has gone bankrupt and was not even contactable.

So While we had the second one repaired twice By a person Brio Recommended ( Tim who was really helpful/knowledgeable) but really the bad install initially was the problem.

So we've had our issues, and Tim did go into bat for us to Brio about the bad install & he negotiated a brand new one supplied at cost. I must say Tim knows what he's doing and it's been the best working screen for us.

Hats off to Tim and BRIO for the eventual outcome.
