Worst mechanical experience ever ! – Had my motorhome in the Burpengary workshop for 3 wks Dec-Jan 2019 following being towed there by RACQ following a vehicle assessment (coolant leaking from more than 1 hose). I was told right up until the day prior to collection it had been pressure tested, nothing was wrong with it. I had taped one of the hoses myself, & I knew there was another issue as a big heap of coolant fell out when I pulled up in a country town. While it was in the workshop it had a service (I supplied oil, coolant, oil filter, fuel filter);a few belts were replaced, a new power-steering reservoir bottle installed that I had & in that last day a few hoses. I was told one hose ordered to vin did not fit & one would have to be modified & fitted another time, would take 3-4 hrs apr. Well I can see the hose under the radiator. The one I was shown. No modifications were required at all?! I turned up at the workshop also when nothing seemed to be happening. All of the hoses were pulled off with no valid explanation. In the end I was told my $2,300 bill was cheap because 23hrs had been spent on my vehicle. I asked for a breakdown of those hours. 8 hrs could be explained. My bill was reduced to $1,600. I paid & left never intending to return. I did, however, as I thought oil was dripping from the sump plug. I was told it was to do with hoses from the alternator. The service manager (who was away in Jan)....offered to fix that no charge plus a service vehicle was arranged. I was over the moon. I was told upon collection the hoses ordered did not fit & 'a hose was made'. 'There are other tiny leaks that will cost thousands to fix'. My vehicle is older with low kms....I have found another mechanic now I'm relieved. But how can a vehicle be dropping oil of not 1 x 20c piece size overnight but 2 x 20c piece size, after it has had work done to it?! I don't think they did anything. I'm furious! [name removed] & [name removed] in parts are OUTSTANDING. The mechanical servicing... BIG THUMBS DOWN!!!
