BRITA Fill & Serve

Looks great and easy to use, but doesn't hold much water and could spill easily – I recently acquired this product and so far I find it easy to use and doesn't take long for the water to be filtered. However, the bottle doesn't hold much water at all - it probably holds about a glass or so, so it requires regular refills. That doesn't really bother me. What really bugs me is the design of the spout. It is simply too wide so if you pour it too fast the water will go everywhere, literally everywhere.
Stlylish, slimline water filter – Nice slimline design, easy to attach activated carbon filter, reasonably priced -filters as well. Box said Berry colour but the carrafe is clear plastic with white lid, easy to use usage button. Need to take care when pouring as it has a wide lip which can cause a splash.
Great idea; terrible design – I've been using the old standard 'fridge-door' Brita filters for years and love them. This new design, however, is terrible. While I agree with the other reviewers that it looks great, the pouring holes at the top are far too wide. Even when I'm being careful when pouring water into the glass, tipping the jug just a little bit too far results in water spilling all over my desk. Equally annoying is that it's hard to even see where the holes are.
The jug also doesn't hold much water, so needs refilling regularly. But then it takes ages to fill. You have to wait for it to partially filter the water, then continue filling ... wait ... fill ... zzzz ...
It feels like the designers of this jug drew it up on paper then progressed it to a commercial product without ever testing a prototype. Five minutes of testing would have shown up some obvious flaws.
I love the 'old style' Brits filters, but certainly wouldn't recommend this product.
Stylish, and easy to use & clean – Bought this about two months ago, as the water in my taps hasn't tasted the same since some pipes were updated in my local area a few years ago. I had been buying casks of water from the supermarket, but they were heavy, and expensive. I initially saw this in Big W one day, and then went and researched it online a bit more, and ended up buying it from Coles when they had it - and the packet of filter/discs - on special. Each disc lasts about a month, so they say, but I guess it depends on how much water you and your family consume. The discs aren't cheap (regular price is $15/3pk), but its much much much cheaper, and more convenient, than buying the water in boxes from the supermarket!
The carafe is easy to keep clean (and most of it can be put through the dishwasher). If you are pouring a lot of glasses of water at a time, it can take a little bit of time for new water to filter through, as you need to keep refilling the carafe.
The carafe can fit in the door of the refrigerator, if I want to keep it chilled. But is stylish enough to leave on the bench or dinner table.
The top, with the lid on, is not sealed - so you can't fill it then take it on a picnic - as once its filled, its ready to pour.
If you need filtered water at your place, this is a good, and stylish, solution.
Stylish new carafe – I have one of the new Brita water filter carafes & I use it at work. It looks stylish on my desk. It's easy to use helps me keep on track for drinking water during the day. It has new filter disc technology, which last for one month or 150 litres. The size of the disc is about 55mm diameter & not thick, which is great as I can keep spares in my desk draw.
