Re my post at the top of thread. Just about to put my hammer through it. Persistently will not work unless plug pulled out at back. Wanted to print my Woolies order and still waiting!! Worst printer I have ever used. Have bought a new Brother, but yet to install. Maybe sooner than later. Cheers.

Hi Trebor. Have you called Brother help line? Every time I have had an issue, they have come up with the solution. My MFCsJ5720DW has not always been trouble free, but I don't think ANY inkjet remains trouble free forever. What I have found sets Brother apart, is their help line service. Apart from that, your post doesn't give much info on your problem.

Hi Dejayajay. Thanks. Getting too late for a coherent answer. Will respond later about continual problems. Cheers.

Sorry Dejayajay. Discovered early on from a Google search that the problem was with a capacitor in the circuit board - easy to replace, but I couldn't be 'Brothered'. Downloaded latest drivers etc, etc. but to no avail. Only recourse was switch off at the back, open all the drawers, press on and off to discharge the capacitor and print when 'subdued'. Next time just the same. I have mainly used the printer to print out my son's requests and use only very occasionly myself. So great frustration when ony printing out for others. My, mostly Brother printers expired from 'old age' and not this annoying problem of not connecting to the computer. Did get around at one point to looking to contact Help-line, then I thought of Telstra! Cheers,
