A useless product. Don't waste your money – I wish I'd read the reviews before wasting my money buying this product. It simply does not work. The bottle fits in place, but no mattery how much I tried to prime the applicator pad (the recommended 6 or 7 times recommended is useless) nowhere near enough of the decking oil was released. Really disappointing and I'm surprised that Cabot's bought… Read more

this item to the market. I felt like I was scammed, and judging by similar feedback I'm not alone. I'll now actively look for another brand of decking oil.

Avoid – Terrible quality, the applicator pad disintegrates in minutes, the trigger dispenses such a tiny amount of polish that you have to continually pump it, and the polish doesn’t soak through to the pad properly. Terrible design, terrible quality. Fortunately bunnings refunded me…. Show details

Terrible Applicator – It is very unfortunate for a company such as Cabot's that they would bring such a terrible product to market. This applicator really has no redeeming qualities. Not only does the applicator come apart during use (which is incredibly frustrating), but the lambswool pad sheds fibres all over the place. This is after following the directions to the… Read more

tee where they indicate for best results the pad should be vacuumed thoroughly.

This now means that we have strands of fibres as well as clumps over the entire deck. This will necessitate a full sand and reapplication of oil (using a competitor product). I will now take the Cabot's applicator, deck brush and their bucket back to the place of purchase and ask for a full refund. Unfortunately this has cost me another tin of oil as well...

The worst applicator I've ever used – The Cabots deck applicator has left me frustrated and disappointed and a massive job to fix my deck, the applicator head has way to much movement making it impossible to mop back and forth without the head flipping onto its edge, as for the sheepskin cover itself regardless of brushing and vacuuming has left unsightly fibers (clumps) all over our… Read more

deck, now I have no choice but wait until its completely dry, sand and re-coat with my old trusty home made applicator with a far cheaper and more reliable tie on cover. Its not only cost me time it will also cost me another tin of oil. Very disappointed and I will be returning the product to Bunnings for a full refund today.

BELOW AVERAGE – For a company that have so many wonderful products not sure what their thinking is with this product . My sentiments are similar to other reviews in that after a short while the lambswool become more like a paper mache and it all becomes too difficult to use .. excess oil or coating runs out each open end of sleeve thus leaving drops everywhere… Read more

if you are not careful .. the tie on type more resiliant and easier to use .. sorry Cabot's but you know what you can do with this product ..

I prefer the older style sheepskin applicator that tied on – Today I did the second coat of oil on my 30 sm deck using the new applicator again. I find that the swivel head has a little too much play, tilting & making it difficult to get an even coat of oil all over the lambswool surface when dipping it in the oil bucket. Also, I found this lambswool less resilient than my old one meaning by the time I was… Read more

half way through the job, the wool had 'mashed' flat & was missing uneven spots on the timber making it frustrating having to redo areas. Maybe I was unlucky & got a sheepskin sleeve with short wool fibres..? I liked the changeable head with the scrubbing brush attachment, especially the squeegee which was great at removing excess water off the boards, hastening the drying process.

Garbage – Terrible product. The lambswool sleeve is the worst I’ve ever used. I followed the preparation instructions on the packaging & still ended up with wool fibres all over the deck. The head that holds the lambswool holds way too much liquid which results in stain/oil dripping everywhere. The “swivel head” is more of a hindrance than anything else. It… Read more

makes it more difficult to dip the head into the deck hand to load up. To top things off the connector on end of the pole is brittle plastic. When I was about halfway through the job I left the pole leaning against the balustrade with the swivel head end up whilst I refilled the deck hand. It fell & the swivel head snapped off. Ended up finishing the job with my trusty old $10 applicator.
