Casa Domani Capri

Chips easily. Poor quality – Not good for every day usage. Do not waste your money. Very disappointed with the quality. Sizes are good and they look nice but not functional at all! Very upset!
Very disappointed – Only had this dinner set less than 6 months and have chips on three pieces. I hand wash and am the only user of the set. Do not buy, waste of money.
Not the quality I ecpected – Purchased dinner set "evolve". Within months fine cracks appeared in number of plates. No chipping as some other people have had, just cracks. Very disappointing. Thought they would be better quality. Avoid purchasing them. Made in China.
Simply Rubbish! – DO NOT waste you hard earned dollars on this brand! My wife & I bought 2x Copala sets as a housewarming gift for ourselves when we first moved in together last July (2019)... Not one piece is without a chip or crack... We're not rough on them... Our other ceramic items show no sign of wear at all but if you look sideways at the Copala dinnerset it get some form of damage... Simply rubbish!
Never ever ever again. Porous crap that looks good until you touch it – I have bought many products from them over the years. Ever time l kick myself. You don't even have to look at all of the products without a chip turning up.
Shoddy And disappointing – They look great. And that’s the end of the good stuff. I have to agree with everything everyone else has said. We have around 60 pieces, maybe a dozen aren’t chipped. And yes they get burning hot in the microwave.
Worst dinner set ever – Purchased 2 sets of Casa Domani green dinner sets from Harris Scarfes. Although we have been really careful with them, we have just lost our last mug. We have had all the issues described above - hair line cracks, hands falling off, easily chips. I am so very disappointed. Will not purchase this brand again and will not recommend it to anyone.
Casa Domani, sounds Italian right? – Casa Domani is made to look and sound Italian made but it’s a very cheap, made in China dinnerware set. I think my expectations were higher due thinking it was Italian made. Very deceptive!
Do not use in microwave! – I have the dark blue set and they might look nice, but they chip easily and they get extremely hot in the microwave while the food stays cold. I have burnt my fingers on a bowl only after it being in there for 30 seconds. Very disappointing and dangerous.
Don’t know yet – I have recently purchased pasta bowls which I would like to use to bake individual lasagna servings. I know that they are dishwasher and microwave resistant but my question is are they oven proof. Would like to know before I start baking with them. You kind response will be so appreciated.
Waste of money – I bought a complete dinner set as I loved the design, unfortunately most of it has been thrown out as it chips very easily. I am very disappointed in it and would not recommend buying it.
Only Use For Display – This is eye opening, purchased two casserole dishes and an open flat dish and one Casserole dish shattered in the oven (at 180C) and the other two have hair line fractures appearing. Took it back to Mega Mitre 10 and was told that CASA have never had any issues and it must of been me.
Waste of money – Good looking dinnerware but chips very very easily. No good to use in microwave as food stays cold and plates become very hot to the point of burning hands. Worse dinnerware ever!!
Cracked and chipped – With careful use, not using in microwave, nor washing in the dishwasher, my plates and bowls are chipping and cracking. Two dinner sets and matching serving dishes were given as presents by my daughter and I regret that her kind gifts are not the quality she hoped for.
Chips easily, no customer service – My wife bought several pieces of Casa Domani because of its look and feel. They look great, and feel very comfortable in your hand. It is only when you get them home and start using them you find the problems that have been mentioned here already. Use any piece that I have labelled :"microwave safe", for microwaving food or liquid items the… Read more
crockery becomes scary HOT!!!! While the food is still cold. In a very short time you realize you just don't put them into the microwave because it is dangerous.
Generally more expensive crockery is made from quality material and thus durable... not Casa Domani. They chip very very very easily. Glaze chips off very easy. Handles fall off... very very easily.
Customer service was called about the above issues. Their response...'that is just normal, we aren't going to do anything about it..what do you expect us to do about it?"
I decided to write this review after reading another reviewer said on here that customer service said they never get any complaints about the above problems. We made contact with customer service about 5 years ago on the above issues. Great if you want them behind glass because they look great. But you will have to leave them there. They aren't designed to be used. The microwave issue particularly is just plain dangerous. Their is no warranty, no customer service.
Casa Domani dinnerware is no good to use in the microwave! Their customer service is good though – In summary: I heartily recommend NOT buying Casa Domani crockery if you want to use it in the microwave. If you already have some of the crockery and are experiencing problems like ours with it (see below) you might want to contact Casa Domani's customer service area with your complaint. *** After years of searching for dinnerware my partner… Read more
and I could agree on, we finally bought enough Casa Domani dinnerware in the Capri, Veneto, Taranto and Catania ranges to cover 10 place settings plus a few spare dinner plates and a stack of large platters and bowls.
We were very pleased with the look and feel of the crockery - BUT - although it is marked 'microwave safe', it heats up much faster than the food you put on it and we have each burnt ourselves badly on the crockery several times.
The material the crockery is made of (dolomite) is more porous than porcelain and other microwavable ceramic and glassware we've used. It gets super hot very quickly, sometimes even bubbling a chalky, stinky white liquid through the glaze, yet keeps the food on it annoyingly cool.
Recently, we decided we must replace the Casa Domani crockery as it is so unsafe and ineffective for using in the microwave - we were washing two sets of containers/dishes for most things we wanted to reheat, and in a household where we routinely cook extra serves of meals for future use and need to gently reheat food for preschool-aged diners, that's ridiculous.
Rather than just binning the crockery and feeling angry about having wasted several hundred dollars, we contacted Casa Domani to complain about the problems we've experienced using this crockery in the microwave. The company initially asked us for our receipt (we don't still have it as we made the purchase over a year ago), advising that, as the crockery does not arc or explode in the microwave under normal household circumstances, it does in fact meet the definition of being microwave safe (!) and they have not been receiving other negative feedback on the Casa Domani ranges.
Casa Domani's parent company's customer service department has been very reasonable and helpful even though we no longer have the receipt and we have now made arrangements to exchange our remaining Casa Domani crockery for something we can use safely in the microwave. We wish we could have replaced the Casa Domani crockery with something safe to use in similar patterns, but for a vast improvement in safety and usability, we'll learn to love the new dinnerware. attractive crockery, really reasonable and helpful customer service dangerous! to use in the microwave, even for gentle reheating
