Casio Classpad 330

Dangerous Packaging - OK Product – I know this product well and have used the equivalent Texas calculator which is enough for undergrad level work. The Casio is like using a sledgehammer when a nail hammer will suffice for most school level projects and I think the pricing will be lost on most people. Apart from this the packaging is shocking. You virtually need a full on tool set… Read more
and goggles just to break into the seal, making sure that pieces don't ping of and hit you in the eye! Keep it simple, Casio.. the packaging is waaay over the top!
Simple, fast and intuitive – This is by far the simplest, fastest and most intuitive calculator (with complex scientific functions) on the market. It helps if you understand what you're trying to do. I was able to calculate a standard deviation in an exam in around 1/3 the time it took for my TI-84. When you make an error on the TI-84 you usually have to start the whole… Read more
problem again whereas you can just correct the error on the Classpad (saves tons of time). The touch screen interface is much more user intuitive than a keystroke driven calculator. The firmware has been through a lot of free upgrades since the calculator was released (presumably now works better?). Battery life is OK... but if they had used AA instead of AAA batteries... the batteries wouldn't be flat so often when you go to use the calculator. It's a big calculator... but then so is the Ti-84. You'll spend much more time reading the manual with any of the TI calculators than the Casio 330's. Yes they can improve this calculator to make it even more intuitive (still feels like an engineer designed it). This is one calculator I don't regret buying!!! Touch screen, pull-down menus & firmware updates Battery life and screen resolution
It is very disappointing – I bought one from landmark 12 months ago but it is not workable now. I paid more than AU$200 and the official service centre refused my complaint so I am very upset. There is not a service centre in other main cities like Melbourne so it is not helpful at all. Expensive and bad warranty service
Waste of money – The most unintuative product I have ever seen. It's smart and can solve all the problems a student doing high level Mathis would need, but you will being spending half your exam trying to get the thing to do what you want it to do. Unfortunately I had to buy this for school but if I had a choice I would never buy this. Huge waste of money. I'd… Read more
rather just buy a calculater app on my smartphone. It may not be as optimized but at least a human can use it without reading numerous manuels. It solves most problems (Mathis problems of course) Expensive, unintuative, feels pretty cheap
Good – This is a really good calculator, especially for exams and tests, with all the things you can do. It's kind of complicated to figure out, but you get used to it. I like that it's touch screen, but it's so large it's very impractical if you have a little pencil case or none at all. You can do everything with this calculator! Complicated algebra,… Read more
graphs, plotting, you name it! It comes with a stylus and it's very easy to turn on and off. It's so big and heavy. It feels clumsy in your hands and the price was really high, for a calculator! I doubt I use ALL of the functions, anyway.
