Chiq 24" tv model L24D6CG Purchased this TV in January 2026 for the purpose of using it in our caravan, which on the Chiq website says PERFECT for caravans. Immediately I noticed the sound was very low, I could put it up between 1-100 but after 50, which is far too low to listen to comfortably, putting volume up to 100 made no difference I contacted Chiq who advised to send through a video, which I did.
I received an email back stating "Management has advised the same thing as before; they recommend a sound bar or speaker since the unit is a very small compact TV it doesn’t have the capacity to produce more sound."
Unfortunately this TV is not fit for purpose as Chiq doesn’t state it is recommended to purchase a sound bar or speaker because the tv doesn’t have to capacity to produce more sound.
Chiq website states "Take your entertainment anywhere with CHiQ 24" Portable HD GOOGLE TV, PERFECT for caravans, boats, trucks, and motorhomes!"
Because the manufacturer has refused to accept my warranty for faulty goods, and not fit for purpose under Australian law, I’ve had to lodge a claim with Fair Trading
I do not recommend this tv especially for a caravan as it doesn’t have the capacity to produce more sound.

This TV came with our new caravan. Would not recommend this cheap TV at all. As soon as you turn up the volume to be able to hear it the sound becomes very distorted and impossible to listen to. I emailed Chiq who advised that it is a cheap TV with cheap speakers and that my only option was to purchase some external speakers.
You can get bigger, better FHD TVs for about the same price, but this is a good choice for a low-wattage 12V TV in a small space like a campervan. This has a good picture for HD with decent brightness and contrast than other 24” TVs I’ve seen. The tinny 2x2W speakers are OK with dbvx-tv on, but really need an external speaker (via bluetooth or headphone jack). Android TV is a winner. Apps play fine despite only 1gb ram, but the remote can lag on the busy homepage so I installed a simple, faster launcher. Power draw on 12V DC (no lead supplied) is only 17W on aerial TV, 24W using apps. It has USB for videos and TV record, VESA for wall mount, or the stand is very stable and better than other caravan TVs.

Awesome tv for caravans or bedroom – On our lap around Oz our tv broke in our van so we purchased this 24 inch Chiq Smart tv. We’d never heard of the brand so we were a bit hesitant especially as it was on special for less than $250! As soon as we set it up( it’s 12V and 240V) it was so easy to get going. I’m not one to read manuals but with this little tv it basically tells you what to do. Picture is as clear as we need. We are quite close in the caravan so sound is also perfect. It has subtitles’ ability if hubby is sleeping. Operates really easy for us grey nomads. Turn it on and when we arrive in a new place go to Settings, Channels, Scan and it finds all our channels for that area. Sooo much better than our last tv. WiFi is easily set up on phone or modem if home. I’ve set up Netflix, Seven Plus etc. The remote control has Netflix, YouTube, Google Play and Prime video. Just key a code into phone app and they’re all set up. HDMI is easily plugged in at back as is USB where you can also record tv programs on. It’s a light tv (2.5kgs) and easy to take down from caravan mount and use in house. I haven’t found any negatives after 6 months of use. It has a 3 year manufacturer warranty as well. Very happy campers!!!

Great little tv – Can’t fault this tv, good picture, sound is fine for the bedroom, easy to set up for a non tech person. Mounts to wall. Netflix, youtube etc on it. Would recommend.

For compact televisions, particularly those designed for caravan or smaller space installations, the internal speaker size can limit overall volume and audio depth. This can sometimes result in reduced sound clarity when the volume is increased significantly.
As mentioned in our previous correspondence, the TV supports connection to external speakers or a soundbar via the headphone jack or Bluetooth, which can significantly improve the listening experience if higher volume or fuller sound is required.
