1 Janene H.  · Unsatisfactory – Absolutely disgusting timing for police checks. They say at the most 10 days and I have been waiting over 20 days
5 Dilpreet Singh  · Perfect – Very nice and I had learn about site very well.
1 Jrad  · Required too much information – The Australian working rights should just be 100 points of id verification and not require 4 other documents
1 Ethan  · Awful company – Failing to complete a police check, and refused to refund my money, will have no dealings with this company in the future.
5 Kim G.  · Efficient – Very efficient in processing. Was easy to complete and process
5 Suspended Q  · Great service – I applied for and received my check on the same day

Advertised same day Police check, some may take up to 10 days. So 15 days later Police check received by email, unable to access X 4, Eventually the phone was answered and helped through the login process which continued not to work X 3 and was only accessed when the staff member took over the process - an hour and a half wasted here. Answering… Read more

message says they know there are delays but they don't tell you that when you sign up and they take your money, nor do they offer a discount for this known delay. I could have started work 2 weeks ago if they provided the service they offered. Staff on phone very helpful, cited, a total disappointment and waste of time. 10/10 do not recommend, especially if it is time sensitive

I have been employed with the same company for over 18 months. Recently, I changed roles within the organisation, which required a new round of identity checks. Unfortunately, the company engaged CITED to conduct these checks. Despite already holding a clearance, getting multiple AFP background checks, children's passport, a driver’s licence etc.… Read more

CITED refused to accept my existing documentation. I was forced to pay an additional $75 to obtain another marriage certificate purely to satisfy their process, even though I have been legally married and using my current surname for over 22 years.

Because of this, I am now facing weeks of delay without work, which is causing significant financial stress. Based on my experience, I would not recommend CITED for identity verification services

Worst customer service ever – They are hopeless. I am trying to contact them as I chose Federal police check instead of National police check by accident and no one responded to my messages for weeks. Also they keep asking me for proof of my identity, no matter how many times I have uploaded all my documents. It's absolutely ridiculous, they used to be easy and quick, but it's not like that any more. I wasted my money and haven't received my police check.

They are a legitimate business – I got my national police check through Cited, so I can comfortably recommend them to other people to use. I usually go through the one listed on the police website, but Cited were about $10 cheaper and I got my check delivered to my inbox the next day. I did not encounter any problems with them at all. Show reply

Complex and tedious – Complex and tedious. Too hard to work with. Sends many messages telling you you are missing something. You add it then get the next email about what is missing. You will have to use it if the organisation uses the company to verify you. But you won’t enjoy the process.

Zero stars if i could!!!! – I am trying to register with Hire Up as a support worker urgently as I have a client that needs urgent care. However, there is no way i can communicate directly with Cited and there are a thousand issues! I must have a computer degree to use their system which is broken. They want to take ALL MY PERSONAL DETAILS and there is no way of knowing… Read more

they will delete my personal information immediately. They do not need all this info. There is nowhere or way to download the info I need to submit. THERE IS NO WAY OF CONTACTING THEM FOR SUPPORT. PHONE JUST TIMES OUT AT 10 MINUTES, THIS IS MONDAY, TUESDAY, WED, THURS AND FRIDAY. AND DESPITE BEING FLAGGED AS URGENT BY MY CLIENT AND SUPPOR THEY ARE STILL UNABLE TO RING ME TO SORT THIS URGENT MATTER OUT. It is disgusting and despite jumping through all their hoops I can still not download the correct information to support my desperate client. Hire Up needs to dump this company immediately. It is ruining their reputation.

asks for way too much info and clunky process refusal to fix errors – forced to use cited for another company doing checks on documents like passport/ license/ etc has been a very poor experience when i first signed up i had to use email; then it asked for my mobile and then i got a text verification with no notice i was getting a text verification (just lucky i had my phone on me) i was running around the house… Read more

finding documents; cited should clearly state at the start of the process what is required. first i had to give my license, medicare and utilities, and my mobile and email verification; but then add to that had to give my passport too. really unhappy with the service and very very concerned with how clunky the experience was for this company to have all my particulars; i do not trust the website or them at all to securely house my records if i can open a bank account on 100 points why do i need to show 200 with cited. HATED the experience add to this the police check process; they only allow a single document upload. other processes for checking you can use your phone and take two photos, like the front and back of the license but for the police check only one document can be uploaded. ie one photo; i have a two page police report.

the point here is they have tried to make this a mobile friendly experience and are failing miserably as they havent consodered that for ALL checks allow a person to take multiple photos and upload these multiple photos; they do it for some checks but not others making it a really crap inconsistent experience. i was bouncing between my mobile and desktop repeatedly trying to make their crap website work for me, and i hate that. minus 5 stars

Drivers licence issue – My driver's licence has been fine for other checks but they kept saying to check with Service NSW even though after calling Service NSW they said there was nothing wrong with my drivers licence. I asked for a refund and they only gave me a partial refund. It is only "easy and fast" if there are no issues. If there are, they don't bother looking into it and blame other 3rd party providers.

very frustrating – this process is very frustrating! who in their right mind has a copy of the back of a document if it's blank? it is ridiculous! someone needs to go through and amend the sections where if a certain document is blank on the back delete the part where you have to upload a file of a blank document. 90% of the calls i have have had from my crew is about this

Extortion is illegal in Australia – The Cited data collection and permission process is simply a form of modern extortion and data theft. Anyone who pays Cited to collect data on their behalf is complicit in the extortion of individuals personal data. Cited software insists on individuals giving away their rights to privacy, which is a protected right under Australian State and… Read more

Federal Law. Cited forces an individual to download and sign a false declaration giving Cited permission to collect non-relevant data for the confirmation of qualifications. At what stage is giving Cited the right to access ALL your University records, on the pretext of verifying a single qualification, acceptable under Australian Privacy LAWS? Anyone who engages Cited or any other data verification company to extort private and personal information from individuals as a part of an onboarding process, in my opinion, does not care for the rights of their employees, contractors, sub-contractors or Australian Privacy Laws. Organisations that support the data collection process by third parties have failed in their duty to protect individual privacy and as such fail to be good corporate citizens. There are other less invasive and corrupt processes available under Australian Law that do not cost organisations any money or infringe on the rights of an individual under Australian Law and which gives organisations recourse under Australian law if the individual makes a false declaration. Why pay a third party to extort data by forcing individuals to forgo their protected right to individual data privacy when there are alternatives? Cited will not accept verification data from other verification sources such as publically accessible government-endorsed databases. Australian Motor vehicle and drivers licenses, construction induction White Cards and High-Risk Work Licenses, etc. are all publically available for verification for free, why would anyone pay twenty or thirty dollars to Cited or any other third party to verify this information? Unless the individual provides a copy of an original document Cited pends the verification process until the document, they want is provided. In my case, Cited instructed me in writing to make a false declaration stating that I do not hold the qualification. I had already provided the required details to Cited, and did not have a copy of the card to hand. The data I supplied is publically accessible from a Government website. A third party trying to force individuals to make false declarations is illegal and shows either a genuine misunderstanding of basic Australian Law or is the act of an organisation that does not respect any Australian Laws. Why would any organisation force individuals to provide data to a specific for-profit organisation that only exists to extort personal data from innocent parties who are trying to earn a living by actually working? Failure to give up your protected rights to Cited by refusing to provide protected data prevents the individual from gainful employment and by simple definition is extortion. It would appear that data collection companies only give lip service to individual protected rights and in my opinion, these companies do not respect the rights of the individual under Australian Law. Data collection companies profit from extorting personal data from individuals to sell for profit.

Asking an individual for a Statutory Declaration as a form of verification will save an organisation money, and protect individual rights.
