This company 'Clarity Check' deducted money from my account three months in a row for doing nothing then i realised i had to scroll way down to the bottom of their website and actually opt out for something they allocated to me without me requesting a thing. Don't ask them to check a number as if you do thats it they've got you then

As stated by other reviewers. this is a fishing SCAM done by scammers trolling facebook buy/swap/sell and gumtree car/bike sales mainly. HOW IT WORKS: if you are selling a car (for example), scammer will contact you and ask for a clarity check report to be done. If you do it, a charge of 0.94c will be charged to your payment method...WHAT THEY DO… Read more

NOT TELL YOU IS....YOU WILL ALSO BE CHARGED $39.99 PER MONTH to your payment method AUTOMATICALLY!!!!

If you are contacted......tell caller to use the state registering authority (example: VICROADS in Victoria) to get their own report. It is free!

WARNING: Do Not Sign Up – Impossible to Cancel I am writing this to warn anyone considering Clarity Check: stay far away from this platform. Their billing practices are predatory, and their customer service is effectively useless. The Timeline of My Experience: August 18: I officially cancelled my subscription. August – April: Despite my… Read more

cancellation, Clarity Check has continued to withdraw money from my bank account every single month.

Multiple "Resolutions": I have contacted their support team numerous times. Every single month, a representative tells me, "Yes, we have cancelled your subscription." * The Reality: Every month, the charge appears again. When I confronted them about the unauthorized charges for a service I cancelled over half a year ago, they informed me of a policy stating they will not refund money taken from a customer’s bank, regardless of whether it was their error.

Misleading at best, deceptive and costly to most. In Bing Search this company appears to be a simple phone number lookup, but when you try to use it it does a deep-dive instead including details of household members and dating sites used. No mention of money, but of course when you try to use the site, after wasting your time with fancy progress… Read more

bars it demands an email address, and after giving them your email you click "Get My Report" and it then demands payment to access the report - which is actually a 7-day trial that converts to a costly monthly subscription if you don't realise that you need to cancel it. Their ad on Bing says "Free Reverse Email Search" but you do an email search and it still demands payment.

Wish I read this before I engaged with these guys, another $1.49 up front that automatically defaults to a $39.99/month scam, all to check on a phone number, stung again

ClarityCheck is a clear scam; they have been using my Credit card without authorization. I contacted the support several times, they kept asking the same info and replying the same (that I don't have an account and don't find my card). I sent them proof of attempts on my credit card on their behalf, and they kept sending me AI st>pid messages… Read more

(almost one month later, and they are still using my credit card)! I had to block my card, which I use for other things, and because of them, I can't! Horrible company, horrible support, scam!!!!

Very confusing to use, and wouldn't give me what I wanted yet charged me 3 times, obviously I was retrying to get it to operate so each time they charged me yet it told me I had used whatever credit I had, no report NOTHING just kept going back to the start... Won't give me a refund because apparently THEY say "I skipped the trial" why would I,… Read more

when all I wanted was to try it to see if it was for real for my daughter to use if needed.... But no they could obviously see I was going over same thing because I wasn't getting what it says I would get, so I retired and each time they took my money 1 X 95c 2 X 94 and yet stated at the time $1.98 (or near) and refunded at end of trial if cancelled, I cancelled before any of these amounts came out, I wouldn't have cared if it was just the $1.98 but to not even be that amount rings alarm bells SCAM, confuse people and that's how they make there money....... Since seeing my review I have received an email to state I will now get a refund.... Shame it took a review to get it....

SCAM - Hidden subscriptions and how to refund them. This company uses a deceptive business model. After you pay a small one-off fee, they sign you up for a recurring subscription without your clear or informed consent. This is how they hide it: The subscription renewal is only mentioned in the depths of their long Terms of Service. The only… Read more

"notification" is a generic "Welcome" email, with the key details at the very bottom. It doesn't look like a subscription confirmation and is easily missed or sent to spam.

This practice of hiding key terms violates the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Furthermore, they may claim "no refunds," but this is illegal. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, UK consumers have statutory cancellation rights.

HOW TO GET YOUR REFUND (Based on UK Law)

You are legally entitled to a full refund. Your specific right depends on the timing:

WITHIN 14 DAYS of the first paid subscription charge: You have an absolute right to cancel for any reason during the 14-day "cooling-off period." Their T&Cs cannot override this law.

EVEN AFTER 14 DAYS: If, like me, you were never properly informed about the subscription in the first place, your right to cancel is extended up to a year. You can argue that no valid contract was formed, and you are still entitled to a refund.

Contact their support, state these facts, and demand your refund. If they refuse, tell them you will initiate a chargeback with your bank for an unauthorised or mis-sold transaction. You should also report them to the CMA - The Competition and Markets Authority.

(This review is based on UK consumer law as of July 2025. This company's practices appear to be in clear violation of it.)

Additionally, ClarityCheck fakes reviews on mass, and offers refunds to negative reviews for the removal or changes to higher ratings. More trustworthy review platforms (like this one) show this well.

⚠️⛔️☢️Used Clarity Check for two quick lookups. Paid individually for these checks. Never used again. Now, I’m being charged for a subscription! And almost impossible to find out how to cancel (since I didn’t sign up in the first place). ⚠️⛔️☢️ what’s up with ‘credits’? Best not to use them. Now I’m worried I’m going to be charged every month.

Hidden subscription!!! Hidden deep in their terms and conditions is a $19/week subscription. No other indication you are signing up for it. Then only way to cancel is to use their bot. The results were also pathetic. The only detail they found for the number I submitted was a mispelt name and their WhatsApp profile picture.

every time I tried to ask for a refund after the "free trial" period, they claimed to not have any records of my account even though they have been able to withdraw money out of my account every week. they don't have a real person on the other side and just re-send the same generic message. It's either a bot or someone just sitting there copying… Read more

and pasting, hoping to get away with it. They also pay for their followers on Instagram, and buy fake reviews. Is anyone in the USA able to do me a massive favour and report them to the Federal Trade Commission for business malpractice? They list their office as being in San Francisco (if someone's able to pay them a visit) or track down who they're registered with?

otherwise there's this body: https://www.econsumer.gov/

They're a US company who also investigate international scams too for consumer protection – I'm filing a report with them now.

Was receiving calls from a random number quite frequently, searched the web and found claritycheck.com.au advertising on a site called reverse lookup I think. Clarity check priced a one time check on a number at $1.80, so I processed transaction through Apple Pay and got information that didn’t look too accurate. Anyway a waste of money I thought.… Read more

6 days later I am billed with $22.99 from clarity check, now I never agreed to a subscription and a subscription was never disclosed anywhere. Funny thing I found with the purchase of $1.80 was done in 2 transactions like it is testing the rebilling immediately. Luckily my bank stopped the transaction and called me, hopefully I can warn people ClarityCheck.com.au ClarityCheck Clarity Check is a scam website. I did due diligence before I paid the $1.80 and found only positive reviews obviously fake though. Even product review has allowed so many fake reviews to be posted saying it’s a five star service when it’s nothing but a scam website, it’s truely deceiving that scammers now post positive reviews everywhere promoting a service and then rip people off hoping they’re to busy to notice little charges coming out of their bank. Product review verify each review but obviously it’s not enough, crazy world we live in

The clarity check misleads users and makes them subscribe to the service they've never intended to subscribe, people think they just making a single payment, while in reality, they are semi-hiddenly confirm your subscription at this time. The… Read more

service: They act like they can find somebody by photo, or other credentials, and after search they come back in a minute an report that noone was found or the probability of match is 2% or nobody found. 2 dollar of payment doesn't look that bad even if you didn't get any results, so you just pay and forget about them, but they charge you 39AUD every month since that day. Stating you subscribed yourself and all was written in term and conditions document when you paid at first.

The support: Obviously all users then go to support and ask for cancellation and refund, at they reply quick with the 3 different messages just randomly sending you one of these: 1) They require youк details for the refund 2) They ask for additional email associated with the account 3) They say that all is confirmed and they proceed with refund

No matter what you ask you'll receive the same message again and again

Follow-up  · Obviously as they are well nkown scammers - no refund was issued

Fact one. ClarityCheck takes your financial information to debit a small amount. Fact Two. Then the charges, becomes a regular process .. FACT three. These charges will keep on Even after one has Cancelled subscription and given formal warning not to use card details and to delete any financial or otherwise information obtained by them. FACT… Read more

four. The report allegedly prepared by them is a report that anyone can obtain from GOOGLE OR AI. Free. Fact Five. Your information is then sold to other partners in crimes to scam you. FACT Six. I take full responsibility and prepared to submit documentation. Fact Seven. Most important.. Do not reply to any messages. Emails. Or open a link in their sites. They use so many Social media platforms. Because Social media platforms are easy to dupe people. FACT. LAST ONE. IF YOU WERE SCAMMED. EVEN FOR A LITTLE amount. They could have sold your info. So report it to AFP. IN AUSTRALIA AND IC31 IN US.

DO NOT USE. Here’s why: - they attract you with $1 offer - they create an account for you, mostly without you knowing about it and put you on a subscription (alleging the $1 was a trial) - then a week after, they charge you card $39.90 or more - I’m trying to dispute this atm

This is a real scam, on old people especially. I asked for 1...that's ONE ONLY, look-up phone number and paid for it. I had absolutely NO IDEA they were putting my information into a regular database for continual payments....because there was never any mention of doing so. Today, these dirty dogs have taken money UNAUTHORISED from me without my permission...so DO NOT USE THIS SITE! I'd like these guys to refund what they took without permission.

Day light robbery!!! Complete SCAM#### Please stay away from it. I checked a phone number with the cost of 0.95c and after few days i see a $39.99 charge on my credit card for an annual subscription fee. They make you sign up for a yearly subscription without your knowledge. I am disputing the transaction with my bank, but it looks like they win. There is no way I can contact them, email is the only channel and there is no response.

Reports are very poor quality. Once you purchase a report they also sign you up for a very expensive subscription service without knowledge or consent. Do not use this service!

Beware you are signing up for $40 subscription. That phone number check gave me no information at all and then a week later I was direct debited $40. I feel like I’ve been scammed.

The scammer uses ClarityCheck to use my credit via ClarityCheck without my permission. It charged $0.99 twice and $39.99. For $0.99, I do not worry. I am supervised how do they get my credit card details. Through NAB, I got $39.99 back.
