 AI reviews summary

ClassBento is a highly regarded service for booking creative workshops and experiences, with users consistently praising the platform's ease of use and the quality of its instructors. The sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, focused on the successful acquisition of new skills and the therapeutic nature of the classes. While the vast majority of experiences are seamless, a small number of users have flagged concerns regarding refund processes and unexpected additional costs at specific venues.

Pros
  • Diverse Range of Activities: The platform offers an extensive variety of classes, including pottery, cooking, perfume making, and painting, making it a popular choice for gifts, dates, and group celebrations.
  • High-Quality Instruction: Teachers are frequently described as knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging, with several reviews highlighting their ability to accommodate beginners and neurodivergent participants.
  • User-Friendly Booking: The website and booking process are noted for being intuitive, with helpful features such as automated reminders and easy rescheduling.
  • Tangible Outcomes: Participants often mention their pride in the physical items they created—such as paintings, jewellery, or candles—and appreciate classes where they can take their work home the same day.
Cons
  • Refund and Dispute Delays: A significant recurring issue involves the difficulty of obtaining refunds when classes are rescheduled or cancelled, with reports of slow communication and unresolved requests.
  • Hidden Venue Fees: Some users reported unexpected additional costs at specific workshops for essential services like firing pottery or adult supervision for children's classes.
  • Inconsistent On-Site Perks: There are occasional discrepancies between advertised inclusions (such as specific snacks or drinks) and what is actually provided during the session.
  • Brokerage Limitations: As a middleman service, ClassBento has limited control over the hygiene or professional standards of individual third-party studios, which has led to dissatisfaction in isolated cases.
Verdict

ClassBento is an excellent resource for finding unique, high-quality creative workshops across Australia, particularly for those looking to start a new hobby or gift an experience. While the platform is reliable for booking, users should clarify venue-specific inclusions beforehand and be aware that the refund process can be lengthy if issues arise with the individual workshop provider.

Had a fantastic experience through ClassBento! The booking process was simple and seamless, and the class itself was well-organised, engaging, and a lot of fun. Easy to navigate site with relevant information. I really enjoyed the traditional stained glass painting course. It was a unique opportunity. Well priced with excellent teacher and facilities.

We booked this private art class for a birthday celebration and honestly expected wine, snacks, and several terrible paintings. What we got was an absolute blast. The instructor (Catherine) somehow managed to keep convincing us we had hidden artistic talent buried under years of drawing crooked stick people. The atmosphere was relaxed, fun,… Read more ·  1

and zero-pressure -> perfect for a group with wildly different skill levels.

Location in the middle of Subiaco was perfect. We arranged our class for a Sunday so we had little traffic to contend with and no parking issues.

Anyway, by the end of the class, everyone had a painting they were weirdly proud of and about 400 new inside jokes. Easily one of the best birthday activities we’ve done. Highly recommend for anyone wanting chaos, creativity, and a suspicious amount of paint on their clothes.

Tea blending workshop. What an amazing workshop! Amy is a wonderful facilitator. Full of knowledge with a warm and cheerful personality. We thought we were passionate about tea...we found our people! Very well paced session, not rushed or slow. A gift to the senses. Loved the workshop and the time with my Mum, one of the best times we have had together. Thank you Amy.

The Beginner Friendly Coaster Tufting Workshop is at Sydney CBD. I recently treated myself to a fun tufting experience, creating a Milk & Mocha bears coaster as a surprise gift for my partner. Really enjoyed the Cheese Making class. Learnt heaps and feeling confident to try it myself at home. We took home samples of the cheeses made and a Brie to actually continue to mature ourselves. Great lunch and convivial atmosphere. Would recommend!

Follow-up  · We made a brie which is still maturing, 4 weeks later. Lunch was lovely with a glass of wine included.

Poor Custoner Service! In October 2025 my friend and I were excited to go to BiuBiuStudio to attend a Mosaic Lamp making class. We paid to make to make 2 lamp holders. We had fun during the class but when we made enquiries to collect our lamp… Read more

holders, we could not get in touch with the teacher. I do not recommend taking a class at BiuBiuStudio as you are just wasting money. I have discussed this very poor/non existent customer service with ClassBento and even the are ignoring my emails too ever since I asked for a refund for the trurkish lamp holders that we had already paid for. So all together I DO NOT recommend this website or any of the individual workshops. I won't be using this website anymore.

Follow-up  · The initital experince we had in this Turkish lamp class was fun. Decorating the lamp was fun and the teacher was very helpful. However after numerous attempts we weren't able to contact the teacher to pick up our finished lamps. A few months later we did manage to get a refund from Class Bento. Thank you, very much appreciated.

I booked my first bentoclass with Elin (Travel Drawing Class). I really enjoyed my 1 on 1 private class with Elin. She was very welcoming. She has a very cute, friendly dog and her studio is adorable. I was a little nervous as I am an introvert but I slowly opened up to Elin with my art struggles and my future goals. She was very understanding and… Read more ·  1

showed her support. I knew I’d be in great hands considering her years of art experience. She started off with warm ups and she taught me different techniques. I will ensure to use her tips and reflect on our session when I do the next drawing solo. I’m happy with this experience I got to have with Elin. I love my drawing I did with her. It is my first art class and I look forward to seeing her again. I highly recommend to anyone who is wanting to try it out. I was learning how to do art on YouTube but I felt like I needed more of personal guidance which I achieved with Elin.

I am looking forward to booking different types of classes within bentoclass. I’d like to get out of my comfort zone and socialise with others while having fun. Learning how to paint with acrylic and how to make a bouquet are on my bucket list. Thank you for a good experience

Worst service ever – Worst service ever! Purchased a Jewellery making class for my two daughters for Christmas 2024 then couldn’t book a class! No sessions available. class…..no one there to run class…forgot our booking. Phone call made to teacher who arrived 10 mins later by car. Then had to wait while they set up. When seated in class in front of materials….it was modelling clay and gold and silver leaf! Absolute joke! Target audience….5-8 year olds….not my 18 and 20 year old! Asked for an explanation. English not first language so communication was difficult. Told the I wanted a full refund….and walked out of class. Got half refund. Told the other half was for the booking and teacher’s time! I will never use Classbento again!! And have warned others about the poor service and falsely advertised classes. Now pursuing action with Consumer Affairs to get my money back!

Ceramic Painting Workshop: Clay Soirée – We went for a hens activity, and everyone had a ball!!! It was so much fun. We cannot wait to pick them up! mugs, bowls, candle holders, ring holders and vases. And there were still more options available. We brought drinks and food with us, and they kindly lent us glassware, cutting boards and an esky (arranged with the studio prior).

To note when booking: The private booking is for a private table in a shared space. When we booked, we thought it was a private space, like a side room, so we were a bit confused when we arrived and were shown to our table. But it wasn't an issue for us, and honestly, you're so focused on your painting that you don't even notice other people. I would recommend dressing for the weather; the studio isn't temperature-controlled. So if it's warm, dress like it's hot, etc. :)

I did the Cupcake Decorating Class for Beginners - Beginners Cupcake Decorating hosted by the Accidental Caker. I wasn't sure what to expect as I was very inexperienced. But it was much better than I could have wished. It was professionally run and the teacher was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to have a go.

I booked a Sashiko workshop through Class Bento at Perth city Farm with Peace by Piece Art and it was an amazing process and workshop from beginning to end. Booking was very easy and the workshop itself was a lot of fun. Instructions were friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend using ClassBento to everyone wanting to do something fun or something new or both.
