Clenergy SP15

Product is not up to mustard - Class action or compensation should be provided – Like many others who have posted, I had a Clenergy SPH15 installed in 2010 by Origin Energy. also had a relay failure and is practically dead. Searching the internet shows this is extremely common for Clenergy inverters. Origin charges $199 for a callout each time and more money to service or ~$1500 for a new inverter. Should be replacing free of charge with a different brand inverter for the additional cost to get a functioning solar system and stuffing people around...

RUBBISH!! – Product is rubbish and should have stayed in china. Purchased through origin energy thinking that they were a reputable company and would not install inferior products, i was wrong. Absolute garbage

Garbage – The item failed several times and has never worked correctly Origin and Clenergy should be taken in a class action for supply of shoddy product. Do not buy under any circumstances.

Clenergy SPH15 inverter – Fitted by Origin in 2011 and faulty .Phoned origin and they sent out a service man 2 weeks later cost $199 and quoted $3300 to replace .Phoned Origin as I was away and after a lengthy phone call to Melbourne and promises made ,still awaiting follow up call to see what they will do to replace or refurbish .Absolute disaster .What do I do???

Clenergy Inverter more trouble than it was worth! – My Clenergy inverter was also replaced three times over 8 years. Have now been told that they were inferior products and the business has more or less gone out of business. A better replacement unit from another supplier will cost me more than the entire 1.5kw system did 8 years ago. How am I saving money on power? How can I be guaranteed the next one is a more superior product? Who do you believe?

Three failed inverters – After 3 failed units over 6 years, there is no warranty. Origin wants to replace it with a better unit at $1590. They should of used a reliable unit in the first place. Quite simply the solar system has cost money and not saved us anything.

unreliable, AVOID Clenergy – Purchased brand new in 2016, failed after 18 months. Clenergy refused to honor the 5 year warranty because our supplier, who is no longer trading, .. was "not authorised" whatever that means. Total waste of money and up crap creek in a barbed wire canoe. Have no confidence in any Clenergy product as a result of their total disinterest.

Pathetic Product and terrible consumer support – My Inverter was installed in 2011 and died under 3 years later. No problems getting it replaced under warranty but of course had to pay an expensive installation fee to an electrician. was told the warranty had expired 2 years ago and new warranty did not start with the installation of the new inverter. Warranty remained on the same time frame as the first inverter. Then I was told that the 2nd inverter was in fact refurbished and not new at all which is contrary to what I was originally told. I am sure this is not legal and will be taking the matter further. Will never deal with the company again.

Terrible units - Do not use – Hi, I am in the exact same situ, after having a 5KW 20 panel system with 3 inverters installed 4yrs ago. The Clergy SP15 inverters x2 have both failed and were replaced mid 2016, but have now gone again.. start again. I now see this company use refurbished units, and reinstall these inverters so there is no manufacturers warranty on warranty replacements. I asked to have all three replaced with a newer better and more reliable 5KW inverter but they refused. Have not heard from them now for 2 wks even on replacing the old Clergy SP15s. Disgusting and NOT HAPPY JAN..

Atrocious – We had the Clenergy inverter installed with out solar panels 2011 it failed 3 years later. Replaced with 'refurbished' one by Origin as still under warranty. 2016 this one has failed and needs replacement. Solar specialist I contacted said 100 % of these inverters fail within 5 years
