Personal – The dermatologist at Clifton Hill seemed more concerned with my personal life than my skin, asking more about that than assessing my skin. I ended up learning very little about my skin condition...

Charged $180 for a 10 minute consultation duirng which the dermatologist was unable to diagnose – I attended Clifton Hill Dermatology as a result of a referral from a GP. I was kept waiting for >30 minutes which resulted in a very perfunctory 10 minutes consultation with dermatologist Dr [name removed] - who was absolutely flummoxed and unable to diagnose a small skin lesion. The cost for Dr [name removed] 10 minutes of indecision and lack of a diagnosis? An extortionate $180. I subsequently wrote a letter of complaint to Dr [name removed] about her excessive fee (particularly as she was unable to diagnose) and she responded by sending me a printout of some information that she had downloaded from the Internet and a justification that she had charged a 'reduced fee' of $180 for 10 minutes as her standard fee was $195 per hour. This dermatology clinic appears to be primarily for cosmetic dermatology treatments, IPL hair removal and cosmetic laser treatments etc. I would absolutely not return nor would I recommend Clifton Hill Dermatology Clinic to any patient with a referral for skin cancer detection and diagnosis. Profoundly disappointing.
