Our 50+ year-old yacht was struck by lightning late last year, and being on a swing-mooring in Moreton Bay was difficult to access for quotes and repairs. I have been impressed how well Club Marine addressed my out of pocket costs associated with a violent storm on Bribie Island on 24 November 2025 which shredded my custom made boat cover and in the process lifted my boat off its pontoon roller supports. From the initial call to make a claim with Club Marine it was pretty simple. They were helpful in guiding me as what to do. few deep scratches on the hull and impact damage as well. Once approved i did nothing till i was advised to pick up the vessel. The whole time Club Marine namely [Name Removed] was in contact with me checking up to see what was happing and once i had the vessel back, was i happy with what had been done. I said yes very happy and appreciated what they had organised. The end result was a good looking vessel again.

under insured (our fault) and they helped us through what could have been the end to our family skiing/boating for an extended time. I will be staying with them now our boat is repaired. We won't even miss a season skiing.... thanks to everyone at Club Marine.

Claim raised over the phone a few months following incident as I was unable to lift vessel quickly to determine damage.  Follow-up  · Follow-up review. As my boat is always moored and I do not have a trailer, this resulted in a premium reduction. history is with the manufacturers service centre. Three months after owning our boat disaster struck! We had our boat serviced and a week later the engine had completely ceased! At this point we had only been a customer of Club Marine for three months and looking at a repair bill in the tens of thousands of dollars. We contacted Club Marine, who were absolutely amazing! They made us feel at ease, they were very helpful and did all the work for us. Our claim was accepted and a brand new engine has been installed in our boat. We are so grateful and appreciative of Club Marine and their staff! Life long customer here that's for sure! to get clarity around repairs, approvals, responsibilities, timelines, warranties, and even basic information about what work was actually being carried out.

The biggest frustration was the lack of transparency and accountability throughout the process. I often felt like I was the one managing the claim instead of the insurer and repair network doing it professionally. There were ongoing concerns about the quality and scope of repairs, confusion around damaged components, delays, and difficulty getting direct answers to reasonable questions.

As a boat owner, you place trust in your insurer to support you during a stressful situation. Instead, the experience left me exhausted, financially impacted, and with very little confidence in the overall process.

I understand repairs and insurance claims can be complex, but communication, honesty, and customer support should never be this difficult.

Lastly, the repairs are still not complete, and I haven't even received communication From Club Marine to see if they are!

I hope this feedback encourages improvements because no customer should have to go through this level of frustration simply trying to get their boat repaired properly.

We are incredulous at this recent layup change being enforced by Clubmarine Insurance! We have been insuring our trailer sailer with Clubmarine happily for 28 years, until this year. We typically have the boat stored on its trailer at St.Kilda Marina for 6 months during sailing season, then we store it in a secure caravan/boat storage yard for 6… Read more

months lay up during winter.

Clubmarine advised us this year that to gain their layup deduction rate, required the boat to be stored in its own individual secure storage. Being stored in a conventional secure caravan storage yard with other boats/caravans was not acceptable any more. This effectively increased our insurance premium from $595 up to $730. We have since changed to RACV Marine insurance that does provide the normal layup discount. Recommend that boaties requiring winter lay up, find another insurance company!

From the start of the process till the close out Club Marine have been nothing but helpful. Even though my claim took a few months to resolve this was not Club Marines fault. From the time of my first enquiry about the hail damage to the bimini and other covers things went very smoothly . Kynat was extremely helpful . Club Marines part of the claim was very prompt , only delays were getting materials and labor over the holiday period . I have renewed my policy for 2026 and plan to continue to do so in future.
