I bought my Corona SX- B21A without instruction manual. Have looked on line, no go. I don't know how to move the wick up or how to open heater to change wick.

Moving wick up and down is done with either the round know or slider depends on which one you have. Changing the wick is not that hard and full instructions come with new wick I order mine from Queensland

thanks. Mine does not have a dial on front. I have had several old, old ones, really easy to move wicks up and also change them. This model does not have the dial/knob that later ones have. Opening the panel is not intuitive, either.

I purchased a SX B22A from straco approx 9 months ago. Starts then goes out. Wick is almost new (only used a few times). Its still under warranty but I don't know where to send it? Cheers

Best contact I had was Cameron 0409990993. Sorted me a second tank for my Heater. As for yours going out all the time if not out of fuel I would guess it was contaminated or bad. Try changing the fuel but wick should done at the same time as would be in there as well

Thanks, David, I have spent hours online looking for a manual for my SX-B21A Corona, which came new and unboxed, with no manual. Totally different to older and newer ones. Your post from a year ago led me to Cameron, who was very helpful. Cheers

Response to folks who are paying insane prices for kero. Find a fuel depot that services trucks (somewhere in your local industrial area maybe) or ask around at your local service stations where their brand sells kerosine at the pump. I buy kerosine - (from the pump) in NSW from a BP centre nearby for about 30 cents a litre.

Wow wot bp is that I pay $2.99 a litre

My apologies to you and others who read my comments. I’m getting ‘old timers disease’ I think. I pay about $1.30 NOT 30c … DOH ! But it’s still way cheaper than rip off Bunnings price.

$5.25 or $105 for 20L

People that say the wicks don't last long need to be aware that the wicks need to be cleaned at the beginning of the season by putting an empty tank in igniting the wick and letting it burn all the tar and residue off the wick till the wick turns white or light grey then it's clean and will burn like new also it's worth noting that if you are complaining about it being expensive that you are paying as you use so at least you don't have a bill at the end of use that's how I see it anyway

Wick is between $40 - $44 for that heater think i went through about 5 for last season. I got told can last five years. Think was about 4 weeks with burning off tar weekly but heater was running almost 24 hours a day for winter. It is not worth getting the cheaper wicks some can last less than 24 hours while if you get a good one can get 3 or 4 weeks as well.

I've had my same wick for 2 years it's working perfectly it gets used maybe 8 hours a day maybe using it 24/7 is just to much or the kerosene you use isn't good grade you shouldn't be getting that much build up on the wick if a wick is lasting only 24 hrs or less or 3 to 4 weeks why bother must be costing you more then it's worth if I had to change the wick in this heater every 3 to 4 weeks I'd go back to a heated blanket and Coco lol

Just fitted a new wick in a Corana SX B21A , but now when I light it , yellow high flames exists, instead of a nice blue . Any ideas why this is happening? I’ve pulled it apart many times to see if everything is in place properly, I’m stuck !! Comments & feedback much appreciated

Dose the corona sx_B21have a cop over the fuel tank capto let the karo out and what dose it look like

david
david

Both the sx b21 abd b22 have a screw top cap with a valve in the cap. No dropping when you hold tank but as soon as you place in cradle in the heater presses and allows the fuel to release into heaters wick storage area. I did get sent one from corana that has no cap and a folding cover that locks in place same way.

But no fuel comes out so what pushes the valve in to let fuel out

I’ve changed my wick and after putting it all back together the ignition lever won’t stay down to leave the wick up, I can’t seem to work out what I’ve done, I’ve pulled it apart a couple of times to see what I’ve missed doing but nothing looks obvious to me. I know it’s something to do with the automatic shut off, can anyone offer some advice please

My Corona won't turn on. I have replaced the batteries but it won't even click when you push the lever down to start it

Hold the lever down to warm up a filament (like a glow plug) adjacent to the wick. It's not instant, takes 5-10 seconds. No click involved.

Is that the best you can do? I have already done that multiple times. Doesn't work

jo123

I expect you also looked that the filament actually glows red - isn't damaged? And that the wick is close to it? If the igniter doesn't do it's job, light the wick with a match or lighter. Take it back where you bought it. Yep. Thats the best I can do. You're welcome.

lol Jo, Good read, thanks everyone, not sure for myself if I'll get one yet, but I'm going too eventually for sure, local place in Dalby called Butters sells kero but might hunt down a drum for sure.

I recently stumbled onto a less expensive fuel option than hardware store kerosene. Jet A1 with virtually identical specs to Kerosene, have to buy in 200L drums though.
