I had to put one star...I wouldn't of even given it that. I hadn't purchased cottees jam for over 2 years. I thought I'll try it again. I threw the jar out..it was disgusting, didn't have any jam texture apart from being a jelly sort of paste and the taste was pure chemical. Show details

It’s not a jam anymore it’s a terrible jelly. It appears they have started putting seeds back in. Won’t be buying this crap anymore Show details

I have finally got sick of the SHRINKflation. I always bought Cottees strawberry, raspberry, marmalade, but no longer. The product has declined in quality in all three products, there is much less product because the size of the jars is smaller. It all adds up to more landfill if the glass jar is not recycled. I now buy a generic brand which I found has more flavour, fruit and economic value.

Strawberry Plums? – I have bought Cottee’s Strawberry Jam for years & well before they reduced the size from 500gms to 375gms overnight. I have also noticed a distinct change in texture & flavour. It is now a thick jelly & spasmodically getting pieces of chewy flesh which I bet London to a brick is not strawberries. I am not suggesting there are not any strawberries… Read more

in the mix however, if there are they are minimal & there are absolutely no seeds. The chunks of flesh look & taste exactly like plum & in no way resemble strawberries in any shape or form. Update: after in excess of 10 years buying Cottee’s Strawberry Jam every fortnight I have just finished my grocery shopping & I purchased another brand of strawberry jam & will not be buying Cottee’s brand again.

Huge Disappointment – A really disappointing experience. The jam is set like a jelly and although I stirred and broke it up it went onto the scones in lumps but didn’t spread. Sitting down to Mother’s Day afternoon tea everyone had the same problem trying to spread it. I was embarrassed, it was as if I had bought a cheap inferior jam. If I could I’d give zero stars. Show details

WHERE'S THE FRUIT GONE? – Since I arrived in Australia in 1989 I've been buying Cottees Jam. Usually Strawberry or raspberry. It has been real jam, with lumps of real strawberry in it, or seeds and flesh from the raspberries. My latest 2 jars were a total disappointment, no fruit, just a bland looking sludge more like what the Americans call jelly, but not exactly as flavour packed as I recall. I guess the hunt is now on for some real jam. Show details

Cottees Jam Gelatin – Purchased this jar claimed to contain 40% strawberries. The texture and colour was more like a dyed aeroplane jelly mix, a very poor one. I enjoyed my aeroplane jelly but not on toast. Get back to basics Cottees and find the strawberry jam recipes, they’re probably still in Leichhardt, NSW. Alternatively take a trip to France, they still know… Read more

how to make jam, 55-60% real strawberries. You could also buy a jar at Aldi and analyse how real strawberry jam looks like and tastes.
