Crocs Bistro Clog

Better grip but not as comfortable – If you are looking for a new pair of crocs and are enticed by the non-slip sole of the bistro clog, be warned…. they definitely have more grip but are not as comfortable as your regular Crocs. I was looking for a new pair of Crocs that I wear when taking my trailer boat out to go fishing. Those of you who have experience with regular crocs and slippery boat ramps will know that they aren’t a good mix …. unless you enjoy falling over in public. The bistro Crocs offer a grippier sole which is designed for commercial kitchens or wet tiled areas. They are indeed better at the boat ramp too. However, there is a definite trade off in comfort. I was expecting the soft ride of regular crocs and these bistro variants are definitely harder under foot. It’s as though the entire sole is either thinner or more compressed, with an added grippier sole underneath. If better grip is what you’re after, they are a definite improvement. If comfort is your thing, you may be disappointed.
The other thing to note for use outdoors, the bistro clogs don’t have the trademark holes on the top. Again this both good and bad. It’s good in that you don’t get the tell tale suntan / sunburn marks on the tops of your feet. There is a slightly higher lip around the heel as well, so the downside is that water doesn’t drain out as easily. Something else to consider for use in a boat or beach scenario.
