My battery draining problem solved – I have a few machines with batteries that go flat between use. This has cost me anywhere up to $1000 to replace them. I bought one of these and never had a problem again. I now own 4 of them and have hardwired each machine for convenience. I cannot recommend these or their replacements highly enough. Show details

Failed and then failed again – I bought one of these and it was doing duty to keep a motorbike battery charged over winter. When I came to start the bike, the battery was flat because this thing had failed. I got it replaced under warranty. A season later, the same problem, the XS 0.8 had failed. Didn't bother chasing it up under warranty this time because these things just… Read more

don't seem to do what they are supposed to do. I suppose that means that I should get my money back. I have 4.0 and 5.0 series chargers from CTEK and they work fine.

Useless , cant even get through all ITS lights promises and needs a cheap trickle charger to keep it afloat – Put itbon a new 15 amp emergency starter pack and expected it to go to maintemsnce light 6 whatever that means because the manual does not say. Enough reasons for faults or incorrect match on the manual to make anything seem normal. Waste of monet and does not do the hype over c techs any favours. Big disappointment and on its way to the rinbish bin !

Perfect - idiot proof – Great little charger can boost up from quite flat for my motorcycle. Batt was at 11v - couldn’t turn over. Absolutely idiot proof - 1. Attach to battery - 2. Plug into mains. Device goes about its work. Have 2 motorcycles and 2 cars - suitable for all. $90 but don’t care if I paid more than some retailers - would pay double.

Excellent – This has been a excellent product. Highly recommended for charging motobikes and small batteries. I use it every couple of weeks to keep my bikes charged. Great value as well.

Don't work – I have two ctek chargers and a they do charge well and don't wreck your battery if you leave them attached all the time. But they don't maintain the battery like there surposed to. If i don't unplug and reattach the charger every couple of days the charger shows fully charged but the battery will go flat. I have my farm machinery plug in all the… Read more

time as it can be weeks or months between use. Have not been able to start machinery as battery flat. When you unplug and reattach the charger show as low as one light, were it was showing all 8 before

Smart & reliable – excellent device! – Thought I was clever buying a dry cell deep-cycle battery for my electric outboard motor ... but I wasn't counting on having to add another $100 for a charger! Good thing I didn't hook up my old Arlec cheapie to that $300 AGM (Absorbent Glass Matt) battery because it turns out these batteries require a very specific feed of charge-current and they… Read more

must never be "over-charged".

My CTEK MXS 5.0 (I have the red button one with the AGM function) takes care of all the technicalities – all I have to do is select what kind of battery I'm charging (it does regular, wet batteries too; even 'motorcycle' batteries) and what function to perform (recharge, trickle-charge or recondition). I've used that last function on completely 'flat' wet batteries to revive them and it seems to do a very good job, though reconditioning can take all night. All-in-all, I'm not too sore about the additional outlay involved in acquiring this charger – it's really very good and gets rave reviews everywhere on the 'net.

CTEK MXS 5.0 great product – Owning a dozen cars and not being able yo driven several regularly, I needed a good charger and trickle charger to maintain the health of my batteries. There were several options in the market, but having own a Ctek 5.0 Test and Charge before, I readily bought another one. This unit is dearer than other brands and dearer than the trickle only… Read more

0,8. However the 5.0 will allow you to charge up a flat battery whilst still giving the ability to maintain charge for ages of non use.

I now happily own one test and charge and four other 5.0.

Great trickle charger for my motorcycle – Did my research on a reliable and inexpensive trickle charger and remembered watching a video of Jay Leno promoting this product and being an avid user. Bought the product for a very reasonable price at a battery store and when I had it installed onto my Ducati monster I was glad to hear that even the mechanic used CTEK in their shop. Great… Read more

product, usable right out of the box and even comes with alligator clips as spare. Very easy to use with little to do in terms of fiddling with it. Now i don't have to worry about battery life of the bike when I go on extended holidays.
