Dekton Bench top – We built with Metricon in 2020. The bench top for our kitchen, pantry and island we chose was Dekton. We paid a premium for this product. work provided by Dekton, we have 25 years guarantee on the product. So I called Dekton and they said I had to go through the builder which is Metricon. I wrote to Metricon, and an appointment was made by the Dekton to visit. I have been chasing for a response since their visit in April. I get the below response on the 23rd of Sep after 5 months. This Job was installed in September 2020, with no report issues. ---------------------------- Report from the Day of inspection: • found a crack in the stone on the r/h/s of the window reveal • client was cooking on the day of inspection and stone was warm • Top has not been well maintained - there was dried cooking fat marks, all over the top - cup and pan marks from spills • the top was with tolerance levels and supported • lack to no tolerance between stone and splashback in far r/h/s corner with little to no tolerance between splashback and overhead

From our inspection we have found no material or workmanship defects with the stone. ---------------------------------- It is a kitchen window sill and there is no heavy items in that zone. Not sure how the crack happened unless it is a faulty material.

I advise to please stay away from this product. Metricon and Dekton are trying to take no responsibility of the quality of the product and the repair. This product is too expensive to have these issues. The finish on the surface around the sinks is deteriorating from water spills which are unavoidable. I showed the inspector on the day of his visit. There is no response to it yet. Please find below photos of the crack and the benchtop condition next to the sink in the island.
