Usability doesn't match spec's – Hi All, Had small Dell laptop before and loved it New Inspiron 13 7000 has been disappointing though. Apostrophe does't work until you press the next key, speakers rattle terribly, speed good though
Poor Performance, propriety & Faulty - Avoid – I use my laptop from very heavy project and excel work which tests the processing power of the Dell. This is my 2nd Dell and with both units the performance has been very disappointing. It may be an i7 but it performs like an i3. As I travel a lot, I wanted a 2nd Power supply but found Dell Aust very difficult to deal with so I gave up. I tried to… Read more
use a generic one but Dell has put in place some software that prevents you from using anything but Dell. The unit is sold as a 13"" but is has large black boarders reducing this to 11"". Also the keyboard drives have been faulty from day 1. The double colon you see is not a typo, but a symptom of poor software manufacturing. But my biggest gripe is using external monitors. From time to time they drop out and searching the forums I found that this is a common failure with the mother boards. Dell wont help you if you don't have a Dell display. Dell had produced a dud batch and sold them across the world but failed to do a recall or notify anyone. Based upon my factual experience avoid buying a Dell due to lack of support, selling of known of faulty equipment and poor performance.
Too pricey n started troubling in 2nd year – Calibration issues.. Auto updates doesn't work well n causes new issues.. Touch panel issues most of the times.. Too pricey for its range.. Keyboard back light not working since 2nd year.. Battery issues.. Not value for money
Great laptop – Great laptop for work and study. It’s lightweight, sound and picture are of good quality. It seems to make a lot of noise whilst sitting idle but I’m not sure what the cause is. Other than that I really love it.
I found this pretty good – 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-8550U Processor Windows 10 Home (64bit) English 8GB, DDR4, 2400MHz 256GB Solid State Drive Touch Screen Very nice machine, In fact we bought another the same but with an i5 chip. Fast with good battery life - may have to top it up once during the day. Nice backlit keyboard. Dell seem to rotate… Read more
their pricing every week. We hit at the right time and achieved 40% of the listed price so If you want a good price be prepared to wait.
Help desk is possibly one of the worst ones in the world so best not to bother.
Our second one had a poorly fitted "top" with the keyboard on to the bottom resulting in very sharp edges.
Yes would probably buy again.
Dell Keyboards suck – My company buys about 5 computers a year and up until now our default has been to buy Dell Computers. But this is going to change. Out of the last 4 laptops we have purchased - 3 of them had the keyboard fail in less than a year. This is very disappointing and is not good enough. When you contact Dell they do not want to replace them even though it is obvious the keyboard has failed. From now on we will NOT be buying Dells laptops.
