Denon AVR-791

Awesome sound, powerful (shakes the house gutters), need phd to decipher the manual and jargon – I bought my AVR-791 four years ago (Sept 2011) and it has served well. You need to be a sound engineer to understand the technical stuff in the manual and to figure out the menus and sound settings. 4 years later I still wonder if I'm doing it right.

UPDATE: The sound issue got worse and worse. I had an AV repair dude work on the hdmi board but it didn't fix it. It's now replaced with a Yamaha RX-V679.

Great unit with reservations – Is a great unit and works well but has a confusing menu system. Had a AVR 2000 previously which was easier to use. Interestingly the old one weighed twice as much as the newer more powerful one. Technology or cheaper components???????????? Also new one was less than half the price of the old one. Maybe they charge by weight ROFL Brand reputation, quality of sound reproduction Menu system or me unable to decipher handbook????
