Derwent Graphic 6B-4H – Against my previous graphics, 4 year old, my new set purchased at Eckserslies are scratchy and poor quality. Disappointing. I am a portrait artist and depend on soft tones. This is not achievable using the new pencils

horrible and waxy – impossible to blend, waxy in a bad way, looks streaky and sketchy. literally Faber Castell is better. im very disappointed since I used the last of my money to buy these and they're unusable for realism art that you want to look smooth. just gets waxier and shinier as you layer it on, with no control over pigments and shading. flecks all through… Read more

my work which I've had to bin because instead of looking like shadows it made my model look like she'd rolled in mud.

My favourite for years – As an Artist I've been using Derwent colour pencils for over 35 years. The quality is always there. The Artists pencil is great for blending. Waxier than the Derwent Studio pencils The tips stay sharp & the leads don't break as easy with a bit of pressure. Could increase their colour range more though.

What happened? – For 35 years my Derwents were a dear friend, my go to pencils. So when my old ones finally expired I didn't hesitate in buying another set. Sadly what a disappointment. The colour and texture I had known and loved were gone, replaced with washed out colour and more prone to waxy build up than ever before. Time to lift your game Cumberland.

Other reviewers..are you kidding? – Cheap and nasty. Work out at a dollar a pencil... Cheap. Yes Ok for kids. I prefer to use a more professional pencil like Faber-castell or Prismacolor. Which are roughly 2.50-2.95 each.

Love using Derwents – I just love using Derwents. The artists set is really a must have basic if you are serious about drawing. They work out roughly at a dollar each, but the larger set that you buy the cheaper each pencil works out to be. You will get many hours of creative use out of these and notice the difference that quality materials make. Many more choices of… Read more

colour than the Derwent Studio range. Really are created with artists in mind. The casings are smooth and comfortable on the hands and allow you to draw for longer. These are definitely not cheap, but they are the best pencils that money can buy.

Great! – i love this pencil for detailing my art work (watercolour) when the watercolour's are not needed or i want the detail to show and not blend like watercolours.the price is a little high but it vary's greatly. once again....i love this pencil.Derwents is a brand i swear by along side a.s (art spectrum) and winsor newton.these brand are always the… Read more

best of quality and for all the budding young artists out there? start 'em' off with derwents i use these pencils myself and i love the smooth easy pigment of these fine pencils. i would not reccomend these for small children....the walls seem to hold the colour if it is drawn on there.....

excellent – These pencils always make my artwork look so fine and proffessional. They glide smoothly onto the paper, and you can just tell that they're high quality. I love to use them for a proffessional drawing, or just for a bit of a scribble. These are the best quality pencils, I believe. They colour and draw really smoothly and the colours are bright and… Read more

brilliant. They're readily availiable everywhere and the come in small packs or really large packs. They might be expensive if you had to replace them heaps. I wouldn't use them for kids, I would probably get a cheaper set, and something that was easier to hold, like a triangle shaped pencil.
