Switch is fine, Grid Connect is terrible – While the physical devices themselves are fine (and "ok" priced), the GridConnect solution lets it all down. If you just want to use them as light switches without any kind of automation - they're fine (though realistically, if you're buying these, you're looking to use the automation and smart home integration). So some things to be aware of: - The wireless in them is average. If your home wifi is also average, they'll drop off periodically - and you need to reset them to add them back in - If you need to reset them, they get added back in to GridConnect as a NEW device - any existing automations you set up will no longer work until you go into each of them and remove the old/add the new - If you have them set up for a multi-way switch (which is the primary reason I bought them), you'll occasionally get into a situation where turning on one of the switches kicks it into a loop where they keep turning themselves off/on/off/on until you reset the switch (and then go through the process of re-setting up your automations)

When they work, they work well. The problem is, Grid Connect (the service) is terrible.

Seems to be ok – Seem to work fine i purchased a few of these switches and have noticed there 2 Way 2 Gang has a fault with the left button there is a 5 to 10 secound dely in the blue light around the switch to turn off after you switch the light off none of the other switches do this the 2 gang single way switch works fine . Update this switch keeps failing within a week of being installed im upto my 4th switch fingers crossed this one does not fail also

One annoying feature – They seem to work fine and I am happy with them however after spending $1500 on replacing my entire house with these switches I find out that there is a little white light that stays on constantly, this is a problem in bedrooms as it is too bright and causes issues trying to sleep, this light has no purpose. After asking Deta what this light is for they just told me that "this is going to be the standard moving forward" and "if it is causing any issues to just put tape over it", this response is unacceptable in my opinion and for this issue alone and the companies response I can't recommend these switches.

Excellent Smart Switch For Two Lights – This is the best type of Smart Switch - hardwired. I have a heap of Smart Bulbs which are screwed into the light fitting and the switch at the wall has to be left turned on for them to work 'smartly'. Visitors / kids / wives have a tendency to turn that switch off at the wall which turns it back to a basic old manual light and removes all of the smart features of it.

This switch has to be installed by an electrician, so factor that cost into your purchase. It is a great solution however because even if somebody turns it off at the wall, it is still 'smart' and will operate on the timer / motion sensor / voice control with the added benefit of being able to manually turn it on & off.

One downside is that this will give you only On / Off control - there's no dimming / colour changing abilities because it is the switch that is smart, not the bulb.

It solves the most simple of problems, but including the purchase and installation, it's not cheap!
