Better results from a bit of wire – I was getting a few marginal signals with a pair of indoor rabbits ears antenna, so figured a bit of amplification should give some reasonable results. Turned out to be almost useless. With a 2m of wire stuck in the antenna socket, I could detect about 20 stations. With this device I only got one and that was marginal and kept cutting out. Ended up putting up a home made external antenna to get around 50 stations. You are better off getting a reasonable passive indoor antenna than this device

works good – I bought a digital dick smith antennae and was surprised how good it worked on my television though it needs to be as high as possible unless someone lives on a hill / the picture is superb / it would be great on a portable tv if someone was going camping or in a caravan

Dick Smith Omni-directional Digital Indoor TV Antenna – My original indoor antenna was pretty poor at the best of times, always needed to move it slightly and even then the signal was unstable. Bought the dick smith omni-directional indoor antenna, after setting it up and retuning the tv i got most channels with incredible signal stability and was very impressed! With the other channels it didn't pick up i may need to adjust the position of the antenna and retune, but i am very happy with the purchase :) Great modern design - looks stylish Didn't pick up all channels in my area

The switch to DTV – Since the switch of digital TV 21/3/14 @3pm we lost complete signal from our latest plasma digital TV's as we share our built in antenna in our rented unit block. Switch customer service was useless telling we needed to retune our channels and the call help line your on hold for 2-3hours with a voice prompt continously saying they had high volume of calls which makes you hang up. Finally my wife thought its obviously not our devices nor us but our antenna our unit block needs to retune their antenna. But my wife couldnt wait so she went into Dick smith saw this indoor antenna, minimal information provided to put together as its too easy and we have all our free channels by simply retuning after connected. If only this stupid government service Switch DTV could just simply say get a indoor antenna we wouldnt have exhausted our time retuning channels. Thank you Dick Smith

Not good enough – I purchased a Dick Smith brand indoor HD antenna and was given no information as to whether it would be suitable. The sales assistant was very vague on whether it WOULD work, after I told her I had tried a friends one on my large flatscreen in my big loungeroom and it was ok. I have since found out that my bedroom was too small and my tv's (a smaller one than in the loungeroom) signal wasn't strong enough for it to work. Nothing of this nature was explained to me at the store) I had been told that I could not return it unless it was put back exactly in the way it was originally packaged (who can do that?)

Useless
