Direct Tyre & Auto Service

Naomi is the only star here – The 2 stars go to Naomi, the young girl who booked our 2 cars for aircon re-gassing. Naomi was also the only employee who treated me with respect. Thanks for that Naomi! I experienced Kevin, the mechanic who worked on both cars, as rude, abrupt and unreliable. He had no people skills, left 2 aircon caps under the bonnet, and did not call back with a quote for parts, as he promised. When I returned to Direct Tyre & Auto Service, after I called first, I was 'brushed off' with an excuse of 'too busy with 2 mechanics short'. I politely voiced my frustration to the office staff, stating the inconvenience with the caps that were not put back. When I said that "an apology would have been nice, not only excuses", the older lady interrupted me with an aggressive: "It's not an excuse, it's a reason." She walked up to me and when I questioned her "reason" she stepped out of the room.
As I've said: The 2 stars are for Naomi. I will not recommend this business to anybody.
Crooks cannot be trusted – My daughters car had an engine dash light on. I had the car diagnosed at a couple of other places, they all came back with the same code number which was P0420. I watched the mechanic diagnosed the car and he showed me graphs display and was told that the bottom sensor on the cat converter wasn't working. I was quoted $323 so booked the car in, had the job done. 4 days later the dash light came on again, so rang them, they said to bring the car in and they will check it. So I took the car in again, the head mechanic did a diagnostic on the car ( I wasn't watching this time) the head mechanic came into the office, and said to me that a power steering sensor had gone and was a coincidence, I asked how much to get repaired, he couldn't say, so that sent a red flag to me. I waited for the dash light to come on again which it did, I took it somewhere else to get it diagnosed. It came up with the original error code so the head mechanic lied to my face so I went in and confronted them. The manager said he is not a liar and he said bring the car in again when the dash light comes on. When it did I took the car in had it scanned and showed the same code number, he said that the cat converter needs replacing and was $495 to replace. I booked it in and when I got home I lifted the bonnet and noticed that they had changed the top sensor and not the bottom one that I had paid for. Not only did they lied to my face but they repaired the wrong sensor. I have forked over $300 for them to repair the wrong sensor........so I cancelled to have the cat converter installed. I can't be bothered chasing them again, only getting the run around and will never go their again. Rather loose $300 than $800
Good mechanics are hard to find – I had my 2005 Toyota CR-V Sport given its 150,000 km service here. I chose Direct, after checking multiple reviews, which were all good. Not being a trusting soul, I checked that they did what they said they did, and unlike other mechanics in the area, they did what they said, and they did it well. They also told me what work was upcoming on the vehicle. In addition to the service, they replaced the rear brake pads, and machined one of the rear brake discs. They also replaced a failed headlight globe which I hadn't noticed. They also offered a great price for fitting tyres, which I will get done next month. All up, I am impressed with their service, skill, and attention to detail. I will certainly use Direct Tyre and Auto Service again.
Professional people and professional service: You can't expect anything more – I guess its impossible to get a perfect repair every time Well it did not happen , but with so many repairers that would have tried to gain extra money by the old trick add a part or pretend it was not the fault of the repair This Manager simply did what one would expect in a professional repair place he booked the vehicle back in and arranged for a free loan car After the repair was finished he contacted me again and I picked up my Vehicle with a handshake and not even a word or thought to try and get extra money to cover his time Professional people and professional service: You can't expect anything more
