Not Bad but – Divine 16L worked perfectly until after about a year the external filter supplied with the unit cracked during the night and leaked. Destroyed the floating kitchen floor. Fortunately the floor was replaced by insurance claim. Now using the same type filter as my Samsung fridge..much better quality and replace it twice a year. With the recent… Read more

boiler chamber clean found the residue-drain-valve rubber O-ring was perished and breaking up. Could not find a replacement O-ring at the local hardware store ...called supplier who didn't have any..only the complete valve unit for $29 excl. delivery. Supplier advised that no one had requested that part before and that I should call if can't obtain locally. It's a inexpensive wearing part surely some stock should be held for a machine that retails for $1200. So now useless until a suitable rubber oring can be obtained Other than that was on most days producing 16-50L water a week. Love the water quality.

Couldn't live without it! – Mum & I have had our distillers for over 10 years & have never had any problems. We cover the top with a towel to keep the dust out & vacuum around the outside of the coils every once in a while. We brew water every 2nd day so I only wish the tank was bigger!

6yrs, distilling every 2nd night and still going strong! – I bought my Devine distiller in 2013 and it's still kicking on as it was when it was new. Never even had to replace a single part yet. Just clean out the boiling chamber every 2 or 3 months with citric acid and top up the activated charcoal pot once a month, and she's good to go! I distill a full 16L tank every second night.

Won't Last Long - Not Best Quality – Bought in 2015. In only 3 months the stainless steel heating element wore down to just copper. In 6 months the top of the stainless steel tank and tap level started to rust (water level not stainless, just steel) In 2 years the heating element core melted plastic into the boiling tank, and the tank also cracked. No responsibility warranty by seller. Gary

I have repaired 3 of these machines which all died due to relay failure, corrosion on the pc board, – I am a maths/science teacher. A few years ago, I was given a broken Divine automatic distiller, in the hope that I could fix it. The circuit board was badly corroded, possibly because it operates in an intermittently hot, humid, dusty environment, between the fan and boiler. The heater element was also severely corroded. At the time, the… Read more

distiller was 3 years old, and the electrical circuitry was out of warranty. I bought non-genuine parts (because they were better than the original parts) , and got them fitted by a licensed electrician.

OUTSTANDING TEN-YEAR WARRANTY

Divine carries one (1) full year warranty against defects in materials on all electrical components & other parts and labour, and ten (10) years limited warranty on all stainless steel parts. If the unit is found to have defective electrical and other parts within the first year, the parts will be repaired or replaced at no cost to the customer. Warranty on the stainless steel parts are warranted on a fully pro-rata replacement cost.

During the first five years from the date of purchase, stainless steel parts are warranted on a full replacement of parts or cost.

Divine (Springwood ) quoted about $300 to supply and fit one circuit board.I did some online searches, and found that Nutriteam USA sells an identical water distiller, with the same part numbers, but it is not badged as Divine. Their distiller is currently retailed in the US for $699.

https://www.nutriteam.com/water-distillers/tc-500-automatic-water-distiller.html

The TC-500 distiller is probably made in Malaysia by Wisdom Trillion Enterprise, and sold in bulk lots resellers.

http://www.bestdistiller.com/water-distiller.html#tc_500h

I expect that Divine imports them for around $200 each, re-badges them as their own product, and resells them for $1229.

My guess regarding the wholesale price is based on the Nutriteam retail price , and their costs to import, guarantee, and ship the distillers from Malaysia to buyers across the US.

These distillers were not designed to be repaired economically. The electrical circuits are not protected from dust, and the circuit board is connected by electrical wiring to many components of the distiller, so it takes a lot of time to remove and replace. The relays have 8 pins each, and they are soldered to the circuit board, so replacement of relays is time-consuming, and must be done by a qualified appliance electrician. (The relays have proven to be very susceptible to failure.) I haven't been able to obtain information from Divine, about rectifying faults. This is a serious problem, because I have to send the distiller more than 100 km each way, if it is sent to Divine for repair. Local appliance repairers have been reluctant to work on my broken distiller, without a circuit diagram and some diagnostic guidelines. Some parts of the electrical system work on 12 to 15 volts, and other parts of the circuit operate on 240v ac.

I have spent a lot of time, finding out how to repair and maintain my Divine auto distiller.

The simplistic electric circuit with exposed 240 v terminals at some terminal blocks and no safety cutout is unexpected. I have never seen another 240v electric appliance which is used with water, with such unsafe design.

The tank and the heater element are very prone to corrosion. I have repaired three divine water distillers , and each of them had both electrical failures and severe corrosion of the boiler elements and circuit board. I know how to fix them now, and where to get better-than-genuine replacement parts. It is difficult to buy ANY automatic water distillers in Australia. The regular supply of broken second-hand Divine automatic distillers are cheap or free and that is why I persevere.

Very impressed! Great unit – Easy to set up. Works as advertised. Owned since 2008 and no problems. Water tastes great too. Like any machine it requires basic maintenance which keeps it running well. The supplier has been really helpful in answering any questions I had originally.

Very Dangerous Appliance. Do not buy! – I have had this water distiller since 5 November 2014. It had been working fine until we came home from holidays to find our power in the house had tripped. I traced the fault back to the Divine Water Distiller. As an Electronic Engineer I checked the unit over to find that the element wiring had worn through an unprotected hole. The appliance… Read more

is stainless steel and if my house did not have proper RCD and earth protection this appliance would have killed me or anyone that was going to get a drink of water. On top of this the fridge and freezer contents were destroyed.

I lodged a complaint with Product Safety Australia (ACCC Response (Reference : REF2049814) and they told me to contact my local authority which is in Adelaide (OTR). I have not heard back from them so I would assume they are not interested which I find very odd as when I called them they seemed very interested to see the pictures of the fault.

Also the unit developed a very serious leak around the element which appears to have not been tightened correctly at manufacture

I emailed the company I purchased it from and have not heard back from them either. I am sure there are hundreds of these units worldwide and it is probably not something they want to get involved, probably hoping I will just go away. Well I won't.

This is a very dangerous product with a very obvious safety fault. All units sold should be immediately disconnected and not used until the Australian Importer recalls them and fixes this very dangerous fault.

You may contact me on here and I will send you pictures if you are unlucky enough to have spent $1200 on one of these as I did.

Very dangerous product do not buy.
