Care factor zero – Take forever to dispatch and do not package their items enough to protect what you purchased and if its damaged they just suggest to return for a refund if its damaged (Of course they would because the coin value has gone up due to demand and they will just profit more)

I received an email a number of days later from Downies, stating my item had finally arrived and was now in stock!!! It was then posted a few days later.
I would strongly recommend NOT purchasing from this company. They only order your stock once you've made a purchase which I find to be completely misleading and in my opinion illegal. An option to 'pre-order' would be much more truthful. From what I've experienced I will never shop here again and would strongly urge others to do the same.
If you read their Google reviews you'll find that some orders took months to receive, while others didn't receive their orders whatsoever.

Why do the screws have to be put in so tightly that you cannot undo them? This is not the only model I've experienced this with, but managed to get the others free eventually without breaking the plinth, which it looks like I'm going to have to do with this one.

Terible service – No coin, no tracking number, no reply to emails or phone messages. I asked Paypal for a refund. Perhaps they arre just too busy to care about smaller orders
Ripped off on (Un)Lucky Dip purchase – Order a coin via their silver coin lucky dip. Advertised as saving up to $90. I paid $59 + delivery and receive a 12gm weighed Stirling silver coin, value about $15. Wrote to them explaining that this was not fair or right, no answer. There are far more reputable coin dealers doing much better service than this company, I know I will never deal with them again, and others should look around for a company that deals fairly.
Coin delivery timeline and communication is abysmal – Ordered coin on 7th November, one week out from Christmas and Downies still don't know when they are getting the coin. No disclosure when purchasing that the item may take this long to arrive. Customer phone line went to message bank multiple times over multiple days times. When I did speak to a salesperson they were excellent, however they still have no idea when I will get the coin but confirmed it would most likely not be before Christmas.
Ruined another coin release – Website is down for nonsense maintenance. Phones constantly engaged. They don't want your business nor do they care about 1 single customer. 88 years in the business and they stuff up constantly. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE. They are so so bad at this .

you last Wednesday 12 April informing me that the order had been sent to the warehouse for dispatch. So that was now three days ago. You know I order bullion from Bullion Now in Melbourne and I usually receive the order at my door within 10 days maximum. Also on Thursday this week I attempted to order some more coins from your website. However when I attempt to pay for the order a message appears…"%FIELDNAME" is required. ENTER AND TRY AGAIN. Basically I am unable to order because there is obviously an issue with your website. This issue occurred when I placed the above order and I had to make a phone call to place the order. I will not be ordering from Downies again and the next thing I am going to do is copy this letter to Product Review.com.au because anyone intending to purchase from Downies needs to be forewarned about your incompetence and inefficiency which is off the scale in my book. How you manage to remain in business is beyond me. I have waited five months for the mentioned order and it seems that your staff has an attitude that leaves a lot to be desired. I suggest you examine closely your customer service and your website functionality because I would not be surprised if you are losing a heap or orders and customers. Poor misleading servic – Downies was horrific to deal with. Tell you anything to get your business and then did not honour the contract, complaint handing non existent, can’t even speak to the owner, sold my items under market value, making allegations up about the customer, rude and disrespectful. Zero interest in resolving any issues. I would give them a zero star if able.
Bad Management – I bought Coins, from the website and the website stated one per order, 4 days later Downies replied that they will refund my money back and then stated one per household. Never buying again.
Poor client services – Poor client services. In the habit of selling stock they don’t have. This has happened numerous times. When they do have items post can take months. Won’t shop there again.
