Absolute rubbish – It is sad to see that the product has not got any better over time reading the other reviews from previous years. Save your money and don't buy this product. The latches catch maybe 50% of the time, of those 50% with a firm pull of the draw you can pull it open. So I'd imagine my 18 month old with a firm grip and pull will easily open these… Read more

draws without too much difficulty. The draws also don't catch each and every time you close them. The purpose of having such a 'safety' device is to ensure the safety of your child, this product scares me. There is nothing safe about what it's supposed to do, if anything it gives a very false sense of security. If it was possible to give a zero star rating I would.

Doesn't work

Pitiful - don't bother – These were the only catches I could find that could be used on our kitchen drawers. They were ridiculously time consuming to instal and if not aligned absolutely perfectly, they only work some of the time. Our kitchen drawers have some sort of powder coated aluminum sides rather than timber, so we had to use a pop-rivet gun rather than screws to… Read more

instal the catches which made for a very difficult installation. This isn't the fault of the product, however, we had to keep adding pieces of cardboard to chock out the latches to get the catch to 'catch' and even then they fail to catch about 20% of the time. As the other reviewer mentioned, they are made from cheap, flimsy plastic so I feel like I have to pull on the drawers carefully in order not to snap them.

Of course, the other issue is that these particular catches only prevent the opening of drawers, not the closing of them, so they offer no protection against keeping little fingers from getting accidentally slammed in the drawers.

Save your money and your patience. Discrete, inexpensive Doesn't work, so totally pointless.

Break easy, choking hazard for the home – The Dream Baby Growing Safety Drawer catches are thus far, one of the worst products I have had the misfortune to have purchased. While they are relatively easy to install, they are made from possibly the lowest quality Plastic available in China today. On my first attempt to fit, when screwing the catch gently to the woodwork, the screw cut… Read more

straight through the soft weak plastic rendering that piece, useless. I learned from this that screws cannot be even remotely tight. Once installed, I proudly showed my wife my handy work and she immediately tested the catch, by opening the drawer. As she did the delicate plastic hook, broke off and flew on to the floor, in front of my child who immediately set about trying to eat the sharp plastic splinter that lay shamefully on the floor.

Just today, my 15 month old child, pulled another drawer and snapped the catch off again.

In my opinion, the lesser of two evils would be to not fit these latches at all and allow your child into the dangerous drawers, simply because of the choking hazard these ridiculous catches present.

I am astounded that such dangerous and misleading products are legally sold in Australia. Easy to fit Incredibly Brittle, Break easily, Choke Child.
