Drivetech 4x4 30A MPPT Solar Regulator & Monitor
MPN: DT-SR30M1 review
Bought a Drivetech 4x4 solar controller to charge my 24 volt agm set up. Started out good! Used 1 x 33 volt solar panel mostly; and hooked another identical panel periodically, in parallel. Panels produce approximately 5amps to 8amps each - max. Highest with 2 panels I ever noticed was 12.3amps. The controller is rated at 75v 30amps. My panels produced 33v 12.3amps Max, less than half the rated power.
Recently set up a lithium battery bank. Controller started out good, charging as I expected. I also used the onboard lithium algorithm, within the Controller settings.
Step forward until the last 2 months where problems began! Sure enough - just outside the 1 year warranty, as usual.
The charger will charge the batteries, does not get hot - but once the batteries are charged, will not charge again, unless I disconnect it from the panels, the batteries and reconnect. This is a daily thing now and very annoying. The display does not have any background lighting, which makes it difficult to read also. However the display does scroll through good info, which is why I know the charger is not working as it should be. For example some display voltage of batteries and voltage of panels. This one displays 1. Voltage of panels 2. Voltage of batteries 3. Load amp draw 4. Solar amperage input 5. Battery Temperature.
This is where others may seem like they are working but aren't. This one is showing how much voltage the panels are producing, however no amps are going into the batteries, thereby not charging until I disconnect and reconnect. I am not happy because this happened just out of warranty and my bank account can not afford another Controller at this stage, when I need it to work.
