EaseUS Video Downloader
1 review
Looked at various YouTube downloaders and the offering from EASEUS appeared good, though pricey at $68. Have had several EASUS software and been happy with them. In addition, the EASEUS website offered a 30 day money-back-guarantee (30DMBG). I purchased the product and was very pleased with the performance. However, I then found that it there was a bug in that the software wanted to download the requested YouTube PLUS ALL associated packages! Large number of files. I could not stop it from doing so without manual intervention. I wrote several times to all the EASEUS support emails I could find asking for assistance. techsupport@easeus.com, support@easeus.com, sales@easeus.com. No response. Even Checkout (aka Verifone aka Avangate) asked the EASEUS tech people to assist. No response. Finally, I reluctantly applied for a refund, confident in that I had the 30DMBG and faulty software. This was because I am reluctant to use software when technical support is not forthcoming and also I wanted to invoke the 30DMBG before the month had elapsed.
Much to my amazement (given the 30DMBG), 2Checkout, the company operating EASEUS, refused the refund. I then escalated the case to PayPal. Again refused. I was completely bewildered as never, never have I had my application for a refund refused by PayPal in 16 years, the claim was invoking the company’s advertised 30DMBG and also can't remember when a software company did not respond to multiple emails for properly purchased software.
I then submitted the above review to 2Checkout, EASEUS and Paypal for comment, in the interests of accuracy and to present a balanced perspective and also as I thought I may have missed something. No response.
I recommend that the 30DMBG advertised on the EASUS website should be clarified, as it does not imply a refund for faulty software or change-of-mind, as I had initially interpreted.
