Excellent lunch – I had a most enjoyable birthday lunch with some friends, the food and service was excellent and I will certainly be recommending The Market City Tavern in Canning Vale W.A. to all my friends and relatives. Regards Myrna Massey
I think its fair! – It provides an opportunity for ordinary diners to give an opinion about the overall experience they have when dining out. Why shouldn't a bad or good experience be brought to the attention of other diners? It places the onus on restaurant owners/managers to take care of anyone who spends money at their eatery. For those persons stating that… Read more
it can be manipulated well you are not correct because reviewers with very few reviews are not included in the overall rating ie you need to have a certain number before your rating is used. This overcomes the problem of owners logging in with many different usernames and over-rating their business and likewise for the competition to under-rate under many usernames.
The best way to look at a restaurant/cafe rating is to look for reviews posted by many reviewers with a high number of them and ignore those reviewers with one or two.
It works for me. The opportunity for me to write about my overall experience - not just the food.
Unfounded reviews – Most inaccurate reviews, Review quality of lots of eatability users is bad. Some are good quality fair reviews but not many. Some users just get on to leave bad reviews. It's not fair for hardworking businesses to be judged by one mistake forever. That's if it actually happened that way. Can be great if filtered and up dated regularly. Unfounded extreme reviews, very old reviews reviews by people seemingly never happy.
Terrible – Total Garbage, at least devise a system to screen the authenticity of the reviews etc...it disadvantages and damages honest, hard working business's... there's nothing to like about this site... once your restaurant is on the site, they refuse to allow you to have it removed. It's a vehicle for your competition to undermine and deride your business...why has this not been addressed...?
Terrible – I understand the need to diversify income streams (especially from ad revenue etc.) but jamming reviews & location guides for plumbers and hairdressers into a website called "Eatability" is stretching the friendship somewhat. I see it as a cash grab pure and simple. The new design is not intuative in the least and loads slower than you can… Read more
imagine. The old web 1.0 site worked very well on a mobile device without requiring a mobile site. This new version is huge. It takes ages to load on even the latest smartphones and there is no mobile option. There are too many filters, buttons and menus.
Here's an idea. Why not create tradeability and productability etc. with a similar theme (like what Fairfax do with drive.com.au) and tout them as being part of the eatability network? Who on earth goes browsing for this sort of stuff on the same site? - The memory of a concise, clutter-free website... sniff - The entire layout and functionality of the current "re-designed" site. It's a crime against nature.
- The lack of moderation. As indicated by other reviewers, the number of reviews posted by owners/friends is insane. I can only imagine that small business owners are suffering when they are hit with repeated bad reviews from friends/relatives of competitors. Limit reviews by IP address!
- Weighted reviews. I've reviewed quite a few restaurants. Therefore my reviews should have more weight than someone with 1 review under their belt. Nothing more annoying than a person who gives 10 across the board for their only review.
Poor website design – I used to enjoy reading reviews on Eatability before they changed the design of the website. It is really difficult to search by location and like the previous reviewers comments there are way too many ads and the website is very hard to read. Bad design
It's a win win situation – I thinks eatabilty is good site I often use the website to see were to go when wanting to dine in different locations or cuisines and found it to be petty accurate baise on previous diners reviews. I think its a very good tool for the restaurant owners as well when want to polish up there business. Some reveiws should be taken a grain of salt but… Read more
on the whole their overall rating system is very good.
After all what harm can it do to have clientele receiving better quality service and food isnt that whats its all about. informative not enough info about BYO
Terrible – not a worthwhile site for the small business owner who doesn't have the time to write fake reviews for their own business. 1. fake reviews 2. negativity of comments left 3. inability to reflect a true indication of what eateries are like 4. inefficient, uncaring and unhelpful staff 5. public forum for the airing of grievances
Terrible – Obviously not policed byu administrators, and the establishments not given any chance to reply to ignorant diners & industry people with gripes. Comments on highly regarded restauants, like the food was shocking, more like the people are more familiar with KFC and Mcdonalds, and do not know what to expect in a decent restaurant. Most people who… Read more
put slanderous comments on this site are industry people trying to make thier establishment look better, maybe they should spend more time in the kitchen learning to cook, to improve thier restaurants, rather than telling lies about restaurants on the internet
inaccurate information.
Used by bitter hospitality people to slag down competition, and write nice things about themslef
Terrible – This site and all similar should not be allowed. People and families invest time and money in their venues to have a bunch of parasites use it as a personal slanging ground. Nothing. I think it's appalling that people are not screened prior to being able to let loose their vicious tongues. Everything. I think most of the reviews left are just personal hate mail against staff and owners.
Terrible – This is an inaccurate website, littered with slander and lies. It does not have checks and balances and therefore should be shut down or at the very least reworked to allow for replies and corrections. The smallest incidents are blown out of proportion. Down right lies and absolute slander are published as fact. The ignorance of some customers is blamed on the staff and establishment. No right of reply is given to the establishment.
Terrible – I can prove that almost review are just writen sitting on your desk without visitig the restaurant. Some one wrote about my restaurant complainig about balti chicken which we dont even have in our menu. One guy complaint about geting menu after 20min on sunday, the day when we have smogerboard & no alcarte served on the day. I think they should… Read more
really do some good homework before writing otherwise soon this website will be soon listed under most funniest web site & channel nine might have show on saturday on there programme. All nonsence just short cut way money making or black mailing to the buisness. If you advertise your buisness will show good rating or just suffer or tolerate all nonsence things writen by themself.
Excellent – We use this site regularly, we review restaurants we go to and use it to find a restaurant when we go away and improve the chance of it being a great meal rather than a disaster. I have noticed slanderous comments seeping in that sound more like a disgruntled employer or unhappy competitor so I would suggest taking 1 bad review amongst 5 good… Read more
raves as probably being fake. Is good for finding a tried and tested good place to eat out in a toen you are not familiar with. I beleive some posts are fake praise by the owners or friends and others are unbeleivable slander from competition. Any place with under 3 reviews should be read over with caution.
Good – A good idea in theory but I suspect the website is manipulated by fake reviews on both sides of the table. None the less, it's a good resource when you're trying to decide where to go and at the very least offers you an idea of what each place offers. Pretty good way of checking out what people are saying about the latest places to eat, gives you… Read more
ideas on where to dine in your area, ratings are a good system. Some pretty obvious fake reviews by people probably connected with the places being reviewed. Some rants which just seem to be made by the competition, I question how many of the reviews are from genuine customers!
OK – Gotta take the reviews with a grain of salt. For what it's worth i find the website useful in finding a list of restaurants in a given area. Without this website i would never have discovered the Spanish restaurant, Capitan Torres, which is now my second favourite restaurant at all times. I try not to put too much weight on the reviews, some… Read more
places i love to eat at don't always have shining reviews from the site. Can find a list of restaurants in the area i'm searching for Don't know how reliable the reviews are.
OK – Eatability is a useful site for getting information and reviews about different restaurants. Although it is a useful site for finding out what restaurants there are in a particular area, it is by no means a complete listing of everything available so there's going to be many places missing. Some of the reviews on the website are questionable and… Read more
written in a way that gives the impression that they have a hidden agenda. It is still a useful site and handy if you are going to a new area and want to find a good place to eat. Provides restaurant reviews and ratings sorted by different categories such as cuisine type, facilities and location Some of the reviews provided seem unreliable
OK – Quite good - ignore restaurants that have less than 5-10 reviews - or at least treat overall rating with a grain of salt. Restaurants with more reviews will be more reliable as bias will be reduced. Good at getting ideas about restaurant quality - particularly by looking at reviews by individuals which this site allows. So if you think the review… Read more
is by an owner you can review their other reviews - if they have never reviewed another restaurant you can take a guess they are an owner or biased. Too many restaurants missing
