Taste poor, biodegradable claims false and broke my machine – Sadly, there where no reviews to check when I tried these. Don’t waste your money. No biodegradable and broken my $200 machine. Stick to Nespresso and recycle under their system.

Really wanted to like these! – I bought 4 flavours and am so disappointed in all of them. The coffee is incredibly weak and tasteless, even if I use 2 pods I can barely taste the coffee. I'm also disappointed that the company doesn't allow reviews on their Facebook page as I may have been better informed before making this purchase. Won't be buying again.

Won’t be buying again – I really wanted to get away from Nespresso aluminium capsules and loved the idea of what eco Caffe have created BUT All of the flavours I’ve tried so far tasted terrible and a couple of the cups of coffee had little blobs of beige pulp in them, which must have been from the covering on the pod. Very unpleasant. I regret spending so much on their pods which are now going straight to recycling without use!

Terrible flavour.. don’t work properly with Nespresso machines – I was very enthusiastic about biodegradable coffee pods... unfortunately I also like a good strong coffee flavour... even using the ristretto my coffee tastes like warm milk.... they also don’t work very well with my machine... won’t be buying again

5 or 1 star depends on machine – I really liked the idea of using biodegradable pods and I am also happy to pay more money for a product that is worthwhile being supported. But still: the pods have to work. In perfect agreement with other reviews here the Eco coffee pods don't work reliably with my Nespresso U machine. Problems are: pods don't slot in perfectly; pods don't get… Read more

pierced properly; pods are not ejected properly and get stuck or any combination of the above mentioned issues. I think I narrowed down the problem to inconsistency in the thickness of the bottom edge of the pod. If it is flat enough all works fine but if it is a bit thicker the pods get stuck in some way. On average every 2nd pod failed and I bought 100. Really a pity as coffee tasted good. I wrote a long email to customer service explaining the problem and never got an answer. Very poor. So with a different machine I probably would have written here a 5 star review. If you own a Nespresso U 1 star is appropriate. If you are still keen giving it a go with your Nespresso U just buy 1 sleeve not 10 like me.

Great coffee and environmentally responsible – We love this coffee and have had no problems in our (Nespresso) Delonghi Lattissma machine - works perfectly every time: A good and informative website and Its so easy to order and delivery to our doorstep occurs within a couple of days. There's a good range of coffees but we personally have settled on the Espresso Forte and nice to know we are doing our little bit by using these fully certified biodegradable pods!

Perfect, pod coffee without killing the environment – Love this coffee, great flavour, great price and great for the environment. Our family have used over the last few years and will never use anything else. Compostable so goes straight into our greenwaste and not landfill, and we dont have the plastic toxins leeching out like you do with other brands.

Like others, I also wouldn't recommend, particularly if you have a Delonghi Nespresso U machine! – The idea of environmentally responsible coffee pods has great appeal to me but sadly, the pods don't work with my Delonghi Nespresso U machine! Side by side, the pods appear different in shape and size. This might explain why in my machine, they don't pierce adequately enough to release sufficient coffee, they become stuck in the machine or only… Read more

partially eject and they, more often than not, cause my machine to malfunction (flashing lights etc)! The coffee tastes quite nice, however, to get the equivalent amount of coffee that I would get with Nespresso pods, I often need to use 3 pods, need to manually pierce the pods (front and back) with a skewer! Not what I feel like doing for my desperately desired early morning brew!!! A big waste of money, lesson learned!

Disappointing customer service – Great idea for a product and shame that the product did not work with our Nespresso machine. What really disappointed was the slow response and at the end the minimal refund received.

Environmentally friendly alternative that tastes just as good – I was feeling really bad about using Nespresso pods as I wasn't rigorous enough with recycling, and I am told the style of recycling has some limits. Anyway, I stumbled across Eco Caffe and after trying a few flavours out can give the thumbs up to the Ristretto (I like a stronger coffee). It's the equal of the Nespresso ristretto. The odd person… Read more

has mentioned the pods not fitting quite right - just very occasionally it doesn't nestle quite right, but a little touch of the fingertip and all is fine. DO make the change - guilt free coffee!!!!

EcoCaffe pods - great taste when prepared correctly – I've received excellent customer service from Michael of EcoCaffe. He went through and troubleshooted with me why my Nespresso Latissima was not producing the taste of coffee I expected. In the end I should have studied the EcoCaffe web site more carefully as all the answers are there http://www.ecocaffe.com.au/machine-tips/. I also learnt how… Read more

the Nespresso machine works with the EcoCaffe pods; 3 holes punctured in the back of the capsule, use high heat and pressure to force the water through the front of the capsule, 'pop sound', the filter paper on the top of the capsule prevents any grinds going into your cup. Only use an espresso pod with the small cup option (40ml), use the lungo pods with the large cup option.

I'm topping up the espresso shot with hot water and milk to get the size cup I like.

I drink decaffeinated coffee so the taste of the EcoCaffe and the Nespresso decaff are about the same. I've got both capsules and still to determine if either is favourite. However, ethically I feel better using the EcoCaffe pods.

I sincerely hope the Ethical Coffee Company/EcoCaffe do well with their product as the amount of waste produced by non biogradeable pods is horrendous.

Fabulous Customer Service – Recently, we had a problem with our coffee machine. We emailed Michael from Eco Caffee & explained our problem. We received a call less than an our later! Long story short, in less than 10 days, Michael had arranged for a replacement machine for us at no cost. His after sales service is second to none. We were thoroughly impressed with his… Read more

prompt & friendly approach to customer service & would highly recommend this delicious product to anyone looking for an environmentally (& budget) friendly alternative to the 'other' brand. Thanks so much Michael.

Tasty coffee alternative to Nespresso – These eco pods come in some great flavours and the environmental benefits are another huge plus. The discovery packs are a great way to work out which of the classic flavours are a hit with the office, and if you buy in bulk the price is on par with Nespresso pods. Would recommend.

Great coffee, good price + biodegradable – I can't recommend these enough. The coffee is great - on-par with Nespresso, for sure - and it's worth it just for the reduction in wastage. I haven't had the issues with the capsules getting stuck - that may be specific to one machine.

Wouldn't recommend – Although the coffee taste is relatively good, the pods themselves do not work very well in my Nespresso machine. Not sure whether they could not handle the heat or pressure from the machine, but more often then not, the machine was unable to puncture the pod properly. When the pod was released, it looked as though it had partially melted. Not sure if it is ecofriendly ( or wallet friendly) once have used 3 pods to make I cup of coffee.
