Efergy

They abandoned the service and so their product no longer works. You cannot rely on this company as they dump you after buying their product and clearly do not care. Buy elsewhere and do NOT waste you money.
Same experience as Robert. Model SMS-AU. Bought a few years ago, no longer works with their app!
Been using Emax for a while. Appears to be consistent and reliable though a bit clunky.
E-Max - Wireless is unreliable especially for a $150 device – I got an Efergy E-Max Wireless Energy Monitor to monitor daily household energy usage in kW/kWh. It uses a non-contact, current-sensing clamp ('wireless transmitter') which doesn't need to splice into the house wiring but instead goes around the wire. The colour display monitor is nice and informative. Very good in theory. However the weak point… Read more
is the wireless transmitter which transmits power/energy data from the clamp to the monitor. When the monitor is unplugged, it keeps all the data (e.g. date, time, kWh, cost) but for some silly reason, it loses pairing with the transmitter. So you have to go through the entire pairing process again which is 9 times out of 10 unreliable before it finally connects, even when they are 50cm apart, after a factory reset, taking the batteries out of the transmitter, unplugging/plugging the monitor and following the exact manual instructions. Extremely infuriating.
If this device was designed properly, you should never need to pair the transmitter every single time the monitor or transmitter loses power (which is easy to happen such as batteries dying or a someone turning off a powerpoint) unless doing a factory reset . And the monitor, for the price, should be rechargeable.
So overall an unreliable product and more of a gimmick.
Support has disappeared – Has worked fine for years but it appears the engage platform is not being supported anymore, support respond saying they are having issues with the server but that has been going on for months. They have a new device but certainly not looking at that.
Efergy "Smart Master" wifi energy monitor: The app was supported for only 3 years: device now useless – Model SMS-AU: I bought this in July 2018 and with the associated app it worked fine to monitor the status of energy in my home. But the app stopped working in 2021, and the manufacturer said that because that product was discontinued it was no longer supported. I personally think this is a really bad way for them to treat customers, the app should be maintained for the life of the hardware. I will never buy an Efergy product again.
Solar electricity monitor is unreliable - poor software in UK? – I started using the Efergy system several years ago. In theory it is a great system but in practice it did not work reliably for me despite hours of effort and emails. Sometimes there might be several months of accurate measurement then back to errors. I wanted to monitor (1) Solar PV electricity production and (2) house consumption. One sensor… Read more
is used for each by sensing current flow in the relevant wire.. The sensors transmit a digital signal to an internet connected hub, which sends the data to the UK cloud data service. A web interface to the UK cloud service lets you see current and historical data. The problem is that there are random gaps in the data that has been stored on the cloud. (See the picture with a gap in the yellow (Solar) line. This means that historical averages are always underestimates of what was recorded because gaps are regarded as zero. Reduction Revolution are the agents in Australia. They have worked hard to resolve the problems but the UK cloud service is the problem and out of their control.
