our irn eggs could be infertile. Down on 18th day, one of the quail egg hatched and we are now the accidental parents to baby Quail , now waiting for full circle of indian ringneck eggs incubation period to see if anymore luck with hatches. The incubator does its job, for a hobbyist and not for breeder. Good enough for us. Cheap,easy to handle and just add water 2-3 times a dayfor the humidity when we turned the eggs manually. For the price, and manual egg turning, we’d give 4 stars.

Gave these incubators a real go, but save your money – Often found on eBay but are also sold by other online stores or resellers that focus on cheap goods, these incubators are well know it turns out for being low quality and prone to failures. once fully checked inside and out. They are poorly designed and in fact should not be sold in Australia as they have a number of design or component issues.

For instance, the supplied plug is not always the required Australian standard, there is a on board fuse that is not end user replaceable and since it is not designed or rated for the Australian AC grid voltage, it can blow and leave you with a lost batch of eggs.

Also most likely due to the AC voltage issue the heating element can burn itself out within a few days of operation. Overall these cheap incubators are not worth your time or money tempting as they may be.

This is not true for all chinese made incubators as I am now testing a couple of new units that are in fact copies of some Italian products and these so far have been stable and working and I will review these and another EU model in the coming month or so after a complete cycle with eggs has been completed.

But these cheap eBay incubators should not be sold in Australia.
