5 Robert  · These pies are great dont no what youse on about especially 93c each
1 Alice W.  · Tastes like mystery meat had to throw them away they don’t taste good
1 Kat  · Woke up feeling queasy – I don't expecting a gourmet meal from frozen pies but it was full of boney grit and I've woken up feeling queasy and bloated. Don't.
1 Mike G.  · Disappointing – Beef was chunky enough but not very tasty. Pastry on base was thick and undercooked making a very unsatisfactory overall
5 Cody D.  · Great pies – Great best pies ive had. Highly recommend. I have 1 every day at work for lunch for about the last 6 months
4 Jay  · Happy as pie – Pleasantly surprised. Chunky meat pieces, flavoursome and nourishing. And affordable compared to Woolworths and Coles.

Thought I might be lucky and enjoy a pie as described on the packaging. Thoroughly disgusting. Chunky Gristle fat and stringy sinew. The meat laws in this country are from 19th Century. Buying food as advertised should be what you get. Not this rubbish. I will never buy these again. Show details

Follow-up  · I cant help but notice they still sell this disgusting product. Now you want me to describe the flavour, texture and aroma. As previously stated. Disgusting and I will not make the same mistake again. I would never recommend this product to anyone. I will never buy this product again. Sorry people. End of story.

Misleading photograph – I found the Elmsbury Chunky sous vide slow cooked beef pies, made by ALDI and guaranteed by ALDI were not chunky, they were just mince and gravy, and looked nothing like the picture on the box,

Shocking! – Had one of beef pies on Wednesday evening around 6.30.at 6.55 pm I fell violently I'll.. Tbh I thought I was going to die! Even coughing and throwing up.. This lasted around 5 hours but managed to keep me up all night.. Ive never been this ill before and doubt I ever will be again.. It may be an isolated incident who knows but I wouldn't wish… Read more

anyone to be that sick... Unfortunately being Aldi is such a secret and impossible to contact this is all there is...because of that and the obviously low quality of the item i could never recommend these pies and I certainly will never buy them again.. What a harrowing and disgusting expirience.. Dont do it! Stick to the bakeries for the best pies!... Sorry Aldi but I cannot recommend this product in any way its terrible!

Just gravy in pastry - or are they?! – Update: Changing my review from 2 stars to 4 because I ended up buying a couple more of these pies and they were fine. If my next lot are good as well then I'll assume I just got a couple that missed out on the steak in the production line, and I'll update to 5 stars. The slow cooked chunky beef pies used to be my absolute favourite pies. Good… Read more

price too. Now the price has gone up by a third and quality has gone down by 2/3. Calling them chunky beef pies is not only false advertising but blatant lying. They should now be called gravy pies.

Delicious pies – Pies are delicious. But the heating instructions are incorrect on the packaging. I’ve made at least five of the meat pies and every time, after following the instructions for our fan forced oven, and when I start eating I find a cold bit!! Something very wrong with the directions!

Less in box for party pies and sausage rolls mix – My father bought party pies and sausage rolls box, had 18 pies as the box says but only 4 sausage rolls. No contact number to make a complaint. Show details

Disappointing "chunky" beef pie – I read the reviews to see if I was wrong...no I wasn't. Only about 2 positive responses and mine won't make 3. Chunky WAS NOT chunky...1 piece of meat and a pastry full of less than flavoursome gravy. Aldi need to take note of this lack of quality and correct it. Show details

Stomach cleansing!! – The meat was mostly thickening and grissely but the Pastry was worse and like eating dried cardboard. Recommend a dried out rat instead!!! It’s now 5 hours since I consumed one of these disastrous imitation pies and I can testify to the fact that my stomach is groaning for revenge. If you’re constipated, I recommend one of these laxative pies. No prescription required!!!! Show details

What are people on that have reviewed these pies??!! For starters, these pies sell for $6.49 and Herberts Adams sell the same pies for $9 in Coles. These are so much better. I've tried both and these are better by a mile. Yes they're not the same as the picture but what food ever is??!! There is chunks of beef in these pies and the are delicious.… Read more

What do you expect for $6.50 in a supermarket freezer anyway?! In saying this, I think that the best frozen pies are the Coles brand 4 pack (do not get the 6 pack. Yuk)! But these are nice nonetheless! These idiots are giving fake reviews. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!

Grounded Bone in Every Bite – This is the 2nd time iv bought these pies and the result was the same, tiny grounded bone fragments in every pie with every bite, so I gave It to the dog which was more suited........Word of advise use real meat in your pies and not bones.....Not buying again. Show details

Change them back to how they used to be please – This pies, especially the Angus beef ones used to be amazing and were our favourite however they have now changed the pies, the meat has alot of fat and the beautiful potato tops are now just squashed in and gross. I really wish the makers had a proper contact so I could provide direct feedback and beg them to make them how they used to be :( Show details

A Gristly Tale – I purchased the Elmsbury Angus Beef Potato Pies from my local Aldi store in NSW. My wife and I had them for dinner last night. They were very gristly! Which made for a unpleasant experience. My wife and I both scraped the meat out of the pies and just ate the potato and pastry. Show details

Quality gone down the shoot – These Elmsbury Angus Beef Potato pies used to be good. About 2 months ago they were the best meat pie around, but bought some yesterday & they have changed the recipe. It used to have nice beef pieces in it, decent gravy fluid, proper mashed potato on top & the pastry was light . Now pastry has not so much fat in it & more water, as is very… Read more

hard & brittle. Meat is substituted with poor quality mince, with gristley bits in it, poatao seems like processed stuff. I won't be buying them again if they remain poor quality like this has become.

More grissle than meat. Absolutely appalling – Package looks amazing until you unwrap and take the pies out of the oven and eat. The package sales 100% Angus beef. But don’t let this fool you. Worst pies ever eaten. So much fat and grissle. I believe I brought them from Aldi. I would say Aldi you should be ashamed in selling such poor food like this. My advise looking at the comments here and my experience, do not buy them you will be sadly disappointed.

Pathetic – This is by far the nastiest pie I’ve ever had in my pathetic existence. It was raw inside and I was coughing up powder for hours. Never ever again will I touch these jokes of a pie. Pull your head in. Show details
