Energizer Lithium Coin Battery CR1620

Useless - waste of money – I have found energiser batteries to be pretty useless over the years But - Unfortunately, they are often the only batteries easily available. This latest CR1620 button battery for a car key fob was bought from Big W for $7 on October 21st. 2023 - [that has prompted this review] - tested half discharged - when taken from packet before fitting. The problem is that nowadays there is no way to test batteries before purchase - as there used to be - and it is not practical to return a dud battery like this once it has been removed from the packaging. What is the solution? Can a customer ask the service desk to test a battery before purchase to make sure it has a full charge?
