Evans Clarke Bidding Online

They need to employ more staff to help out Ian. It sometimes takes 6 months before your items are listed and if you go in to collect or for assistance there is usually only Tracy on the counter and no-one else around and have to wait. More staff would mean more stock is listed which would mean more money for them.
Outstanding assistance from Evans and Clarke – I recently wrote about an issue with buying a Haier Fridge from Evans and Clarke. In that review I did not make it clear enough that my criticism was not with Evans and Clarke. It was with their vendor and Fisher and Paykel. To set the record straight. Evans and Clarke have worked to resolve this issue. They have helped fix a problem not of their… Read more
making.
Tracy on the desk has always been helpful, responsive and kind. Peter the manager has taken on this task personally and worked to resolve it.
In the end Evans and Clarke have taken on the cost of solving my problem without any help from either their vendor nor Fisher and Paykel.
I wish to thank the staff at Evans and Clarke for their assistance and efforts in helping resolve this issue which has taken a long 11 months and 3 fridges to fix.
Always fantastic service, good value products – We've been buyers from Evans & Clarke for many years and we've always had fantastic service and help from all the staff. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble, and any small problems are speedily solved. Products have mostly been great value and it's always worth checking their site.
Great service – Heather in front office is just so efficient, her phone manner is great and Heather has helped when there was a small problem which was solved
great place good prices – hi have been very happy with all the staff and products that they have sold me in the last months great value good product thank you evans and clarke great people to do business with.
crap customer service – being a regular customer both buying and selling over 15 years i thought more of them. but over the last few weeks continual emails and phone calls have had NO RESPONSE !! spent many thousands of dollars with them but now NOT HAPPY !!!
amazing buy great price exceptional quality!! – BID FOR 2 PAIRS OF SHOES, was worried when I read bad reports here on product review, re service and products. BUT when I went to pickup my goods, was very happy with the attitude & politeness of the man that served me, also I'm extatic with my buy.
Terrible – Evans Clarke auction was once good but now they are crap. They make up lame RRP. Im starting to feel they purchase cheap crap themselves then make up some RRP price and try to flog it off.
Do not use!!!! Rude and potentially selling stolen Apple products!! – I wish I had read this review site before buying an apple product from them. I brought an I-Pad from them in December and due to X Mas and living 2.5 hrs away I was only able to really look at it in February. The auction site described this iPad as working and with an image referring that it was good to go and freshly wiped, so Really I put my… Read more
trust in them and stored it in my electronics lab thinking all is going to be ok.
So to my surprise when I went to set up the Ipad it was account bound and locked, I called them straight away and was told that someone would call me back........nope no one called me back! so I brought it in, How stupid I was to think that anyone there would help or at least treat me with a little bit of respect. The lady at the counter didn't understand that because this IPad was locked it could potentially be stolen or lost, all she could do was reply that no it's not, so after a back and forth conversation that was like talking to a brick wall she finally rang up someone to come out and talk to me, mistake number two!!! The little guy that came out, that I thought will be a better help and finally understand this situation how wrong was I!! He came out with such an attitude and referred to me that the Ipad was not locked and I must have given it to someone or done it myself. He then proceeded to tell me that I should have brought it in sooner and that 2 months was too long, and I understand that it was a long time but it was over X mas and I would have never thought it could be a potentially stolen/lost Ipad...anyway I then asked him for future reference how long I have to bring it in and he could not give me a straight answer, all he could say was a lot less than 2 months.
So with all that said and done, I asked him if they could maybe try and get in contact with the seller and ask for them to unlock it, I got a straight-out NO with a smirk on his face like he was enjoying winding me up, the reason was that it would be impossible to find out who owned the iPad AS THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF WHERE IT CAME FROM now that is suspicious!
I could go on all day about what is wrong with this place and just how rude they are, and how they have no idea about computers and anything to do with IT. The other guy was 100% correct that they strip parts out of computers to get more money, they never sell any computers with hard drives and then all of a sudden you get an auction containing several hard drives or bunches of keyboards, there has been some pallets that I have seen where all the Xbox power supplies are on one pallet and then spread out all the Xbox consoles individually making it seem that they have multiple pallets with an Xbox on them.
And all the pallets are broken cash converters stock there is nothing useful there at all!.
This place is a complete joke and a disgrace to South Australia
Honest testimony of regular customer – They'll probably know who I am since I'm a regular customer who's contacted & given them feedback directly & more recently. Occassionally a good online auction site to purchase items in Adelaide if something good comes along. But below will detail the bad elements of their items for sale. 1) Once I drove an hour from one location to be able to… Read more
get there by 4pm before they closed. I was really annnoyed as one of their staff started to close the main gate 5 minutes before closing time, so I had to rush to their back gate whilst driving erractically to make it in. When I got to the counter 2mins before their actual closing time, I was told by the tattooed lady who I don't think works there any longer that their staff had gone home for the day. Which was BS since they open to customers from 8:30am so their staff should be available to at least service the last customers until 16:30pm. I was told to come back the following day which I couldn't as I work & I was given the option to turn up on Saturday to pay & collect.
2) I've already emailed once before to give feedback & I got no reply. I mentioned that their staff should use more common sense when selling IT hardware specifically toner cartridges that come in opened boxes. But since I cannot afford the time to go onsite to inspect items myself then someone using common sense would know by looking at the item whether it was used. I've bought 3 items such as this which should have been binned. I once bought one toner that actually had written on it that it was meant to go to recycling!
3) It appears that their staff are stripping IT hardware to increase the number of items available for sale. If items were complete with power supplies/ram/hdd then it would be of more value to buyers & worthy of buying.
4) Poor testing of IT hardware, because no specific details as to whether the item is actually faulty or what the issue is. Items are listed as powers on OK is not a decent description. Power supplies are not included which means it could take months to get a replacement to actually test or use it.
5) Don't buy Apple products from them! Those particular items should be listed as "Faulty & for parts only!" Whether they are able to turn on or have been wiped with a new install. My experience recently with this is an issue world-wide that the Firmware EFI chip is locked. All attempts to have them assist & get in contact with their original client has failed. I cannot unlock the Apple EFI (BIOS password). They cannot provide an original 'Proof Of Purchase' receipt either & Apple will not unlock it! So paying hundreds of dollars for Apple products you could be left with a dud. Especially if the HDD fails then it's an expensive paper-weight.
6) No option to retract or re-adjust bids online.
7) Do not buy the pallets of 2nd hand items, they have come from Cash Convertors & there's a reason why they're auctioned off is because those items are most likely faulty.
