Tried to watch a movie with my 2 special needs daughters on their only NDIS outing day just to discover event cinemas chermside only provided recliner seatings in rows of 2. Absolutely unbelievable. Instead of enjoying a movie with my 2 beautiful girls, i assisted the carers manage an RSD episode caused by this outrageous discrimination. Extremely disappointing. We will not be returning.

Ordered tickets online, paid a transaction fee on top which cancelled out my cina buzz card discounts for Shellharbour event cinema to watch the third Avatar last night. I liked OLD layout and customer service better. I really had a bad experience this time, mainly because my partner and I disliked the self service option. Upon arrival, the… Read more

kiosks for self checkin didn’t work.

The cinema was understaffed. We walked all the way to the other side to wait in a line to get our tickets and food stamps. Then had to walk back to the front door to get our food and drinks.

Having to pour our own drinks and popcorn, we found the experience disorienting and messy. The drinks stand looked sticky like a late night pub bar, and popcorn on floors.

We then had to line back up to have our food stamps checked before heading into the cinema. Which took away from the excitement.

The cinema was nice and clean, the seats were comfortable. Just a scuff mark on screen to the middle left was annoying at first but you forget about that but all in all I enjoyed the movie, but miss the old service.

Thats why we go to the movies, for the good customer service and big screen.

Terrible Customer Service when we actually needed it: Our child left new reading glasses in Event Cinema, Macquarie Centre. No phone number to ring. We went back twice and when we could finally find staff we gave exact seat number, time, date. Customer service was zero. Probably thrown in the garbage. We emailed and had terms and conditions… Read more

thrown at us and they refused to pay $306 for replacement. No customer care, no option to look around empty seat, no return call. We are boycotting after 40 years of patronage. They just don’t care.

Event Cinema 2 Parramatta- has damage dirty spots on the screen - seats don’t have any recline and not enough leg room - besides you pay for parking on top of the fee they charge an extra 10% fee for buying your tickets online - rip off NEVER AGAIN - Hoyts is heaps better and cheaper

Event parramatta worst experience – Events parra, the worst experience ever had 4/10/24,the ridiculous dont bring food policy just to cash grab, went with my kids, security rummage through our bags as if we were criminals just to see if we bought food, and to that miserable employee who worked at the bar who rolled her eyes at my husband when politely asked to mind our bag(security told… Read more

Double Day bed ticket - viewing n comfort review – Went to the innaloo branch to watch Dune 2 yesterday and since it was over 2.5 hours, I decided to buy the day bed lounge tickets which were situated right at the front of the V-Max cinema. Positives - very comfortable and you can cuddle up with your partner. Ticket price was $73 for a couple with a huge bucket of popcorn incl. Negatives - the… Read more

screen is blurry at times and doesn’t give you as sharp a pic as if you were sitting further back, as you are very close to the big screen.

Recommendation for Event Cinemas - since we are paying a higher price for tixs would it be possible to put the day beds further back and have the cheaper single seat ticket towards the front. Ie have the day beds towards the middle of the cinemas.

Events have made no contact. Except an automated message – I called events to cancel my tickets online. I received an automated message stating I’m on the cue. Since two days ago nothing has happened. I really need my money back. I decided on change of mind. What has happened about service!!! You can’t speak to anybody. I am never purchasing online again. Really frustrating. Not happy at all.

Ed Square, Edmonson Park is literally the best Cinema I have ever visited for 3 reasons: 1. The wonderful staff are helpful, courteous and go out of their way to serve you; 2. The food and beverages are amazing, hot and fresh; 3. They find ways to give you discounts and benefits to 'lighten the load' which is great for those of us on the pension.… Read more

To the wonderful lady on the front counter, I think her name is Deborah, sorry if I got it wrong, 4 years I've been coming to your cinema and without fail your service is amazing and your attitude has been welcoming. Looking forward to many more years of watching movies on the Big Screen because you make the experience worth it. Thank you Ed Square Event Cinema!

I received a Gold Class gift card and we were excited to use it to see Nuremberg today. I started to book our seats online in Gold Class at Kawana whilst sitting in the shopping centre and then discovered there was a booking fee. So we decided to go straight to the desk and book direct. This was great until I realised that as I stood up to go to… Read more

the cinema, I must have had the gift card on my lap and accidentally left it on the seat as I walked away. I was so upset to discover it was no longer there but we decided to go talk to the desk at Event Cinemas and explain what happened. The lady we saw, Sam who was the Duty Manager, agreed to give us two tickets. I was so relieved! Thank you so much. Made our day and we really enjoyed the movie, as confronting as it was. Thank you again Sam and Event Cinemas.

The higher prices in comparison are for quality. You get to choose and reserve your seat, the seats are comfy AF, the bass and sound is amazing. Those blaming Albo are hilarious. You want cheap tickets? Have fun with your uncomfortable seats, bad quality, and not getting the seat you pay for.

We went to see a 9:40 showing of "Pets on a Train". The movie started at 10:08 am. How can the cinema justify nearly half an hour of advertisements in a childrens' movie? At least now I know why there were a grand total of six (6) people in the cinema.

Nothing like being excited to take the kids to the movies, only to be let down dramatically by the (almost) mandatory online booking process. Cinebuzz login didn't seem to work on certain devices, and then even when you do get in, the family saver deal they advertise to you doesn't roll over into the checkout. With the clock ticking down at the… Read more

top of the page, I had to accept the expensive tickets to secure the "limited" seats, paying about 50% more than I should have. Ironically the "deal" price would've allowed me to use the $50 gift card I had, but now I had to pay the remainder on a debit card, only to be charged a fee on that. Also to use that card, I had to put in all manner of personal details(home address? why do you need that); only to find minutes after completing this, my inbox is now slowly filling up with "advertising". So did you "on-sell" my details too?

Talk about a series of hustles, and then they have the gall to still advertise you a $24 box of popcorn. I know it's school holidays and Event is probably making bank, but honestly I doubt I'll ever do this again. Ruined the experience even before we got there.

We went to see the movie Nuremberg on the 9 December 2025 at Event cinema Robina theatre (theatre no 5 , row L8 &9 ) at 3 pm in the afternoon. We found the venue to be dirty and very smelly . The smell of urine was nauseating and the seats and carpet were stained as well as dirty . We did not expect a venue in Australia to be so bad to the point… Read more

that it can only be compared to a similar venue in a third world country. The management should be held accountable and at best they should be sacked. The movie was scheduled to start at 3 pm and we had to endure 30 MINUTES of adverts and previews. Had we known we would have come at 3.30 pm . This has to be the worst experience that we ever had.

We attended Event Cinemas Tuggerah today just prior to 3.20pm which was advertised as the start of the movie. My husband and I sat until 3.50pm watching 30 minutes of advertisements. A waste of our time. The volume was so loud we had to put tissue in our ears. Maybe a staff member could occasionally walk into the theatre and listen to how loud the… Read more

volume actually is. We were asked where we would like to be seated and we asked for four rows from the back in the middle and we were given J6 and J7 in cinema 8 only to find when we reached our seats the armrest between the two had been completely removed. Deciding to move to other seats most of the armrests were cracked and split. Very disappointing.

There is no ability to speak to anyone this despite multiple attempts including calling the shopping centre. The cinema is located in to urgently discuss ticketing issues. The chatbot does not work past a certain point you cannot handle human interaction. This is an example of a company saving money with no interest in customer service.

So much for using an Events Cinema gift card on mothers day. The PIN disintegrated on the back of the card while carefully removing the sticker. No support phone number to address the problem "when needed". Just a web page contact form. Lets stop using that! Useless.

A staff member at Coomera Event Cinemas behaved in an aggressive and animalistic manner, running up and verbally attacking a quiet, respectful mature person without any warning or justification. wonder the venue is often nearly empty—people deserve to be treated with basic respect. After witnessing this, it is clear this was the last visit to Coomera Event Cinemas.

I had a terrible experience. They charge for online booking but don't offer any phone customer support! I had to drive to the cinema to fix the booking that their system messed up. Then, when I got home, I found another mistake made by the counter person. I tried calling, but the recorded message said I should log a ticket and that someone would… Read more

call me ASAP. What does ASAP mean? Ten years? It's been ages, and still no response. Meanwhile, there are no more seats available, even if they do call me to change my booking!

This company is terrible! How can one company dominate the cinema industry in an entire country? Why aren't other companies allowed to operate in Australia?

$23 for a small salt or popcorn (not sure what was it, too salty we had to throw it away) and a drink! Do yourself a favour and just go buy a @2.50 big pack popcorn from the grocery, it's save you a fortune!

Ordered a Hummus dip with corn chips - $22! Stay tuned for a smear of Hummus - literally a tablespoon - however heaps of corn chips! I did complain to the 'duty Manager' who was all of 10 and he responded accordingly, meaning not. Great experience for a movie just wouldn't eat there.

Non-existent customer service & very expensive tickets thanks to labour & albo. Unbeatable cost of living expenses, cost of adult tickets $30. Even their website is not user friendly. Go to Hoyts instead.

refused to credit us missed the movie due illness – I would give zero stars if I could, bought gold class tickets for my wife and I for Valentines day at Carindale QLD. She was ill so we tried to reschedule, she was still ill for the rescheduled session, at this point we discovered you can't change again, there is no one to speak to on the phone and the idiot that answered our email refuses to help I lost $100 and I will never use Event Cinemas again. Thanks for nothing!

Stains across the screen, smelly seats and expensive snacks – Visited screen 6 at Top Ryde, NSW. No Customer Service – Purchased a E-Gift card for a Christmas present - never received it. Up to 5 tickets lodged wanting a refund or to sort problem out. Issue with their system in sending e-gifts. Rang their number (of which was really hard to find) eventually went to voicemail - still no response. Very bad customer service.

Price Gouging -Event Cinemas – Visited Event Cinemas ( Robina) this afternoon to watch Moana (29/12/2024) We were charged $17.60 for a small popcorn and drink- felt completely ripped off. There were no prices displayed in store on the popcorn or drinks - won’t be returning.

Netflix or Hoyts preferred, Event are way behind the curve – It's no surprise Event is going out of business - need to invest in QR scanners to automate ticket issuance (especially since you also charge an online booking fee and then email the QR code??). Otherwise actually honour your designated queues for online bookings and train your staff accordingly. Also, the theatres are filthy, smell like urine and j*zz.
