Everstone Floor Tiles

Beware: tiles need a lot of care – We bought the beautiful textured brushed Durastone tiles for our laundry several years ago. Unfortunately, the tile store did not provide information about the tile at the time of sale. When they were installed, workers got dirty boots on the tiles and I have never been able to remove the stains. Only afterwards did I find out (from another tile… Read more
shop) that they were porous and I could use an industrial (caustic) cleaner on them - also, they were supposed to have been sealed after installation. I do still love the tiles, but I've chosen to live with their stains for now. The brushed surface does shred the mop pads we use, so I prefer to use a carpet brush and bucket of soapy water.
2 years installed, still love them – Felt inspired to write this after remembering how upset I was reading all the negative reviews after I'd ordered mine and thinking it was going to be a disaster. I've got the honed finish 300x600 grey tiles on the floor of my bathroom and also shower floor and walls and they are fantastic. Not too slippery when wet and look clean with a quick wipe… Read more
over. Super easy to keep clean in the shower too. I love the honed finish its not shiny but nicer than matte. Zero regrets with the choice.
Everstone Crystal Mosaic Raindrop Tile – Dont touch this product. It's a nightmare. Used it for my kitchen splashback. 3 sq mtrs took my tiler 31.5 hrs to install. The tiler did the very best he could to make it look good, but it's far from perfect. Ended up costing me more for the installation than the cost of the tiles and they were expensive. The splashback has ended up looking… Read more
jagged because of the edging the tile has and its extremely hard to work with. The tiler spent 4 hours just picking out pieces of mosaics to fill in the gaps. Everstones technician said they were the worst to work with. Absolutely insane. Stay well away from the product. It should be taken off the market.
Everstone honed – Do not buy. Period. Been in house 2 years. Day o moved in i could see builders boot marks everywhere. I got most off unless sun shines you can see them. Company rep came out and said they are porous and should be sealed. I scrubbed two floors with special product. Wet vacuum up. Then sealed with one advised. Guess what...no bloody difference.… Read more
Droppes knife with black plastic handle and cannot get mark off. Shoes mark and scrub with magic eraser mostly comes off. I hate them so much i want to sell.
Durastone matt tiles - Beware! – These tiles are as others have stated, just awful to clean. I recently moved into a home with them and the only 'stains' that seem to be on them are water splashes and they appear ingrained into the tile. I have tried everything to remove them but have had no luck. I urge people to get onto the company and make them aware of this. The tiles are expensive and do NOT live up to the hype.
Durastone matt tiles in Steel Grey - cannot be cleaned – We have tiled our lovely new home with Everstone Durstone tiles, matt finish, steel grey. The tiles cannot be cleaned. The tiles mark and stain. A general build up occurs over time which cannot be lifted. We contacted Evastone who suggested we have the tiles professionally cleaned and sealed only 3 months after we moved in at our cost of $2000 and… Read more
this still did not lift the dirt or make the tile maintainable.
***** update - Sept 2019 just had to get professionally cleaned again, another $900 these tiles are a disgrace, I hate them and agree with all reviews *******
Yes, we have contacted the company Evastone again for help but they have no suggestions for us and will not acknowledge the tiles are not fit for use. The tiles actually shred mop heads I cannot find anything that works. We have had matt tiles before, our choice is not the problem, these tiles must be faulty or the very least should only be sold for outdoor areas where they can be gurneyed. Disaster.
Terrible to clean – I have just built a house and have put everstone tiles in my 3 bathrooms and Laundry. They absolutely are the most terrible tile as they cannot be cleaned. I am trying to find out if there is a manufacturing problem as this is not normal. You have to physically get on your hands and knees to scrub a shoe mark off. I'm extremely disappointed as I upgraded my tile package by $10,000 to have these tiles.
'honed' finish tiles – Very disappoinrecommend 'mark' and dont warrant the ridiculous price they sell for. You must buy a minimum amount and they charge you if you change your mind. And you cannot return any excess. I would never recommend this brand basically they 'rip' you off and not worth the money.
Don't Assume Durastone is Durable! – We recently used Everstone's Durastone tile range for our bathroom renovation, and it looks great. However, the matt floor tiles scuff/mark extremely easily. We are a household of just two adults, so I can't imagine how they would look for a family with kids! We contacted Everstone to ask about it, and they sent us a factsheet that basically… Read more
says the tiles need to be cleaned daily, and recommending a tile sealer to minimize the marks. Why on earth would you make a floor tile that marks so easily it needs to be cleaned daily? Surely that defeats the purpose!
We have now spent approx. $100 on the recommended sealer, which has helped, but not hugely.
We spent a lot of money on these tiles, believing the price a reflection of the quality, but honestly - it wasn't worth it. At our last house, we bought el cheapo tiles from Bunnings, and never had any problems whatsoever.
The matt floor tiles are good if you are all about the look, but not so good if you are also interested in substance. I would, however, recommend the polished wall tiles - they get some water marking on them, but only what you'd expect.
