It’s the Best cross cut shredder I have ever owned! – It’s fast and efficient when you shred and the cross cut is a good security rating of P4. A suggestion that the paper container be enlarged by at lest 50%, but till then have a large plastic bin handy if your shredding a large amount of documents, I had 5 washing baskets full to shred but that was a once, when I first got the Fellows M-6C. “Highly recommend this one”
Works perfectly for home office. It is NOT a "power shredder" – If, like me, you just have a few documents that arrive in the mail that need shredding, or you have some out of date tax files, this shredder works just fine. Please be aware, it has a limit of just 4 pages at once, but I'd never feed more than two at a time. It's fast and it cross cuts the shreds so there's no chance of someone gluing them… Read more
together again. For the money, it's perfect, and if you get three or four years out of it, then you've got your money's worth. My only reservation is, I wish the basket was a bit bigger.
Fellowes Powershred M-6 Cross Cut Personal Shredder – Standard problem with all Fellowes Shredder. My Shredder failed due to over overloading the cutter. When I had taken it apart I found the broken cogs. The first cog was nearly stripped, but it was the second that cracked. Do NOT overload any unit with more paper then suggested on instructions. Failure to follow instructions will destroy the… Read more
machine. There are approx 3 Nylon Gears, turned by a strong motor with a metal spindle. The spindle will tear apart the first cog or the second cog will just snap.
Overloading the unit with paper will cause the Nylon Gears to break.
Spare parts are only held for a few years before discontinued and expensive.
Units under a few hundred dollars are considered throw away units.
Make sure you remove staples.
Excess paper will find its way into the electronics, with a possibility of jamming.
Owners will believe the paper has jammed the shredder because you hear the motor working. This will mean that one of the cogs is damaged, most likely.

Does the job – For the price, product does as it is to be expected. First one lasted a few years, but I didn't oil the cutters, so it would have lasted longer. Shredded bits are a bit larger, if you are security paranoid and don't want someone gluing bits back together, need a different shredder;
Terrible – Bought this power shredder from Office Works. Took it home and shredded 4 pages before it made a popping sound (like something blew up inside it) and it promptly stopped working. No idea what is wrong with it and I plan to go and get my money back from Office Works tomorrow. Looked good. Stopped working after shredding 4 pages
