I bought it early last years but didn't install it until last week. It started beeping every 40 seconds. I tried cleaning it and it still beeps (after silence for 10 hrs). I tried deactivating it but the led never "flash rapidly". So I'm stuck with this thing that can't be turned off that starts beeping in the middle of the night.
Had three hard wired in. 2 failed within 18 months. Unplugging didn’t stop. Replacement of battery didn’t stop. Had to change over at Bunnings. Now 6 months later the third has gone. Complete rubbish for an item that states to replace after 10years. Doesn’t even outlast a battery change.tha kfully my electrician replaced the first two for me at no charge retiring the originals. Do not purchase. Worst alarm on market – Horrible design. Randomly went off 3 times in a night. QR code to small to scan, had to try manually google it. Even when deactivating noise goes off. Terrible
Very poor performance – If removed from bracket they all alarm. Randomly through the night they all alarm never through the day. Bump the button whilst cleaning the whole lot alarm absolutely terrified child every time this happens
Does not last for whole 10 years! Goes off randomly! Difficult to dispose! – It lasted only half it's advertised life despite being kept in near ideal conditions of our kids bedroom which is thermostatically regulated and free of condensation, dust and smoke. I purchased this smoke alarm from Bunnings in the middle of 2019. It promised 10 years battery life. The alarm had a expiry date (Date of replacement) of Feb 2029"… Read more
printed on the back. which is only a few months less than the 10 years battery life it promised I assumed that was the shelf life of the sensor. I was okay with this.
At time of writing this it is July 2024 and the low battery chirp is happening! I went for the 10year built in li-on battery because the installation location is difficult to reach and I wanted to minimise replacement frequency so that is annoying it only lasted half that time.
Also over the years this device has previously gone off randomly for a few seconds (Once or twice in the middle of the night). It was located in the Kids bedroom! This made for a very bad night!
The back of the device says consult user manual for disposal instructions, the user manual just says do not dispose of in regular waste!
Note: Deactivation instructions are in user manual and NOT on the back of the alarm! Instruction manual can be found on Bunning's website.
Do not buy – Lasted about 18 months. Alarm woke me up at 2am and could not be stopped until it was taken off the ceiling and battery removed. Replaced battery but did not fix problem. Would never buy again. Show details
Not fit for purpose - bad value – Ours also only lasted 5 of the ten years claimed and also went off randomly. Would never buy another and this should be taken off the market given the unsatisfactory review
This device is garbage – Like many others have stated - the supposed 10 year battery has failed after 12 months. DO NOT BUY Show details
Absolute Rubbish – This product has a supposed 10 year lithium battery. The one I bought has a replacement date of January 2032. I bought it less than 1 year ago and it is chirping the low battery alarm. I have since checked reviews for this product on this site and the Bunnings website and find this is so very common. I cannot understand how such a critical piece… Read more
of safety equipment has not been recalled. Do not buy this product. Unfortunately I have lost my receipt so not eligible for a refund.
Terrible! Not a 10year battery – Only lasted 4 years before constantly alarming. Bought this product from bunnings Show details
Same as others - terrible – Have two units. One goes off randomly, usually in the middle of the night. Terrible. Show details
FirePro FP500V smoke alarm - goes off randomly – The above model has got the same problem as the FP510V. GOES OFF RANDOMLY. The worse if it does at night. It is a bad product and should be removed from the market. I bought it about a year ago at Bunnings. Photo attached. Show details
Do not buy this smoke alarm – Only 18 months old and going off randomly. Can't remove battery or turn it off. As no switch on the back of it. It is sold at Bunnings stores and the reviews for this smoke alarm are bad. Do not buy it. Lots of reviews saying it should be recalled. Show details
10 year long life battery but only lasted 4 years – Only really purchased this because it claimed it was a 10 year battery (non-replaceable) and that would be good value, despite its higher initial purchase price compared to others. However after 4 years it was flat (purchased from Bunnings in 2017, no longer working in 2021).
