Fiskar Precision Paper Trimmer

perfect until it broke – The Fiskars Procision paper trimmer is brilliant. Its large, more a desktop trimmer but does fold in half and is easy to carry. It is a very expensive trimmer but I thought it was worth the extra money at the time and it works so well -it can cut the tiniest sliver of paper or carsick and also cut multiple sheets at once.It has two metal rails so the blade is very stable and cuts perfectly every time.It also has self sharpening blades so no extra expense. It has clear measurements in both inches and cms,my only problem is with the 6 inch mark-its right on the fold so you have to guess a little bit.All in all I was thrilled with this trimmer and used it almost daily for months until a tiny piece of plastic snapped of the plastic paper guard. No problem,I thought,I'll just contact Fiskars and buy a replacement. It turns out the only piece of this machine that comes off and is made of plastic is not available to purchase! I was so upset and without the guard, the trimmer is virtually useless...I now have a very expensive (I got mine before they were available in Australia so it cost around $260 from the US) and very useless trimmer in my cupboard. I am sorry I didn't go with the Cutterpillar as I was tossing up between the two at the time.I have since purchased a Carl trimmer that I am happy with but I did prefer this one, its just a shame they don't sell spare parts!
Papercrafters must have – I have purchased a lot of trimmers in my time. This one is strong, cuts a very straight line, self sharpens and handles heavy cardstock. It folds in half for easy storage and is easily portable. Measurements are marked in cm and inches so easy to use for all your projects.
