Very useful extension pole for window or solar panel cleaning – I have the 4.5m palm saw for pruning. I haven’t used it for its intended purpose yet- preferring an extension bypass secataur for the lighter work I currently need to do. However the pole is very light and easy to extend. Drilling a small hole in the head allowed me to switch my window cleaning head across to this pole. It’s lighter, longer and… Read more

easier to use than my original three piece set that uses twist grip/friction fittings to extend.

I think I’ve just found my new extension pole for cleaning my solar panels without getting on the roof.

Low maintenance easy use Telescopic Saw – I have had this saw for a few years and it is still sharp as. The main head broke when I accidentally twisted it mid cut. Fiskars were very friendly and easy to deal with and a replacement part was sent without questions. I want to upgrade but this one just keeps working so why bother.

Good Pruning Saw - BUT! – I have owned a Fiskars Quikfit 4m Pruning Saw for about 4 years and it has given me good service but like everything over time, it has suffered some normal wear and tear. The locking slider on the actual pruning head which locks it to the telescopic pole has worn and now when it is locked and am sawing a palm frond, the head detaches from the… Read more

pole. A couple of days ago I went to my local Bunnings store and purchased the new Fiskars Palm Frond Pruning Saw which is what I need because I have a lot of palm tree's on our property. Arrived home and removed it from it packaging (a task in itself), tightened all wing nuts and bolts then headed for the palm garden to give it a run. Alas on the first palm frond I attempted to prune, the inner telescopic pole detached itself from the outer pole and left the pruning head hanging in the palm frond about 3m from the ground. After paying $89 for the equipment I was disappointed and frankly, Fiskars need to spend some time on QA of their products before releasing them for sale. If it happens again I will be returning for a refund and look elsewhere for a better product

This is the perfect tool for pruning cane and other palms - with one flaw – I bought this tool 2 days ago from Bunnings. My first issue is with Bunnings - lovely helpful people but there are some management controls that need looking into. First I looked on-line and was pretty sure this was the right tool for me. The Bunnings web page showed it was in stock at my local store. I visited the store on a Sunday only to find… Read more

no pruner saws on the rack. It was very, very busy and I decided to come again during the week. I rang twice during the week and at last was told there was stock, it just had not been put out yet. I jumped in my car (could be name for a song) and went straight over. There were plenty on the rack and I grabbed one and headed for the checkout. There I found it wanted $82.90 not $79 which has been advertised on the website every time I checked. Even now, Friday 29/10/21 it is still advertised as $79. The helpful guy looking after the self-serve checkout saw on my phone that it was being advertised as such and altered the checkout figure (it shows on the receipt the original price was $82.90. I was informed there was trouble with stock management and offered an apology. So after 2 visits and 2 phone calls and the price hassle, I at last departed with my prize tool to prune happily ever after. But wait... Filled with emotional joy, I could not wait to try it out. As soon as I returned home, I removed the tool from the saw blade cover and read the instructions - oh wait, there are none. Anyway, how complicated could it be. I extended it to where appeared a hand drawn red line on the inner shaft and set about sawing that pesky frond that was out of reach of my old Aldi pruner. After 2-3 strokes the pole came apart, it did not separate from the inner tube, the plastic part that connects the main tube came away leaving the saw and inner tube dangling (luckily not imbedded in my head). Out with the ladder and up the tree to retrieve it, something which at my age I should not be doing. I know this is my story but it sounds very much the same experience as at least 2 other reviewers. I have tightened the nuts that hold the plastic bracket but will return the pruner if it happens again. Come on Fiskars, you can do better than this.

Big user of fiskas but this one a let down – The extension pruner slides up and down in lock position , the saw while as tight as it goes wobbles which makes for difficult job . The saw gets stuck in the tree , or palm . I then had to get a ladder , climb the palm and dislodge the saw . Defeats its purpose . My 10 dollar pruning saw tied to a piece of long bamboo does a much better job . Disappointing Fiskas .

After looking around on the net and at Bunnings I decided on the Fiskars 2.2 - 4.5m QuikFit Telescop – looked at the cheaper brands, but decided on this one bought it today straight out the packaging and put to use, awesome bit of kit, easy to use , extendable easy, sharp saw blade, and flexible blade. gets the job done has a long reach. Could not find it on the Friskar's site. Being a well known brand I hope they sell replacement blades. Found the hook at the end of the blade great for pulling on the dead palm tree leaves.

Gets the job done! – Having used the cheaper saws, they weren't long enough or sharp enough. However the loppers on all work great. I couldnt reach my higher limbs and fiskars telescopic palm saw however reached up and got the job done with ease. Alittle bit tricky when fully extended, but take it slow and will go threw almost anything. I would also reccomend cleaning and oiling after use.

Great Saw for High Branches – Had this saw for over a year & have used it regularly. Extends from 2.2m to 4.5m & weighs 1.78kg. Cuts branches up to 20cm. No lopper mechanism. Cost $115. The saw is easy to use, even when you're up a ladder. The extension/locking mechanism is sturdy & doesn't slip. There's not much flex in the pole, even when fully extended - 4.5m gives… Read more

great reach. The blade does a good job & is staying sharp (only used on live branches, some up to 20cm but those were an effort).

Not having a lopper mechanism is a good thing as there's no cord getting in your way when you're sawing.

Blade assembly can be removed easily (replacement blade assembly costs about $30).

After using it I wouldn't be without this saw.

Would I buy again.....yes. Extends to 4.5 metres, light, minimal flex in the pole, blade only (no lopper cord to get tangled) On the expensive side, as are parts

Exellent Tree Branch Pruning Saw – I needed to prune higher branches on some mature trees around the garden and was looking for a suitable pole saw. I finally found the Fiskars QuikFit at Bunnings (can't even find it on the Fiskars site). It only cost about $130 but I've already used it on about half a dozen trees. The pole and saw, when considering the height of the average adult,… Read more

has a reach of about 6 metres, which is good for most accessible tree branches. Hold it at arms length and the reach is impressive.

The brush saw at the end has a rapid cut so you won't be standing there for ages, but obviously you use it for smaller branches. The blade also clips off (hence the QuikFit label) which is good if you want to transport it in the back of a station wagon. (The only downside is the quick release mechanism of the blade often comes undone under pressure, so always pack some cloth tape or velcro tape to cover the join and it will keep it together).

The extendable pole handle is very solid when extended, so you won't lose energy through wobbling. It's made of aluminium so it's fairly lightweight. The blade is long so you have a good cutting motion, and has hooks at each end so it won't slip off the end. An added benefit of the pole is that you can use the saw's hooked end to fish cut branches from trees and roofs, reducing the risks of overreach. The saw blade can take a good lot of twisting and yanking when trying to pull branches out of thickets. So far I've found it indestructible but your experience may vary.

Bunnings label: Fiskars 2.2 - 4.5m QuikFit Telescopic Palm Saw
