FIX-A-TAP Double Bowl Connector 50x450mm In my opinion, this double bowl connector is fundamentally flawed by design. My Franke sink is engineered to allow a slight incline so that wastewater can flow efficiently toward the drainage. However, this connector uses rigid 90-degree angles, making it impossible to achieve the necessary slope. As a result, it's not compatible with a proper double sink setup and hinders effective drainage.
FIX-A-TAP Tap Head Spanner & Nuts Kit – Spanner is supposed to fit 13mm nuts that are recessed on the underside of tamper-proof tap handles. It is too wide to fit into the recess . The photo shows the nut and spanner sizes. The circular nut width is the maximum width of the recess under the tap handle and the spanner clearly does not fit inside it. They made the prongs too wide. Useless.
Hush Flush (Fix-A-Loo) Cistern water inlet replacement for existing Cistern Ballcock – Love the product which replaces the Cistern Ballcock (refills the cistern). Easy to fit. But try getting a replacement part for the topmost valve of the device, is impossible. It was never sold and the company don't stock it any more. The idea is an inbuilt obsolescence so you buy a complete new unit! For that the product gets a thumbs down! It did have 7 year warranty but parts should be available for repairs!
I purchased 2 of these - both were faulty! – So my old 13 year old hot water inlet hose started to leak around the crimped hose to fitting to the tap. I went to Bunnings & purchased a 2meter replacement hose (suitable for hot & cold water). It leaked immediately around the tap thread to hose fitting. I fixed by using ‘pink’ plumbing tape. Annoying!! About 1 month later my sisters washing… Read more
machine hose displayed a similar fault. Thinking it was a 1 off I purchased the same hose from Bunnings again. Same fault…same place… the thread!!! I have ordered an on-line replacement - original part. Buyer beware. Don’t waste your time. Time is too precious these days. Z
Do not buy fix-a-loo Soft Close Toilet Seat – Paid $100 for a soft close toilet seat. After installation, I lifted the seat and cover but they had to be held upright for 15 seconds to stay in place. When I flicked the cover and seat to close, they took 21 seconds. I discussed this with the company and sent a video but their engineers "could not replicate the problem". Finally got a… Read more
replacement seat ... with a worse result. Moral is DO NOT BUY one. Wish I had read these other reviews first. I will avoid fix-a-loo products from now. My second toilet has a cheaper unit from Bunnings which works perfectly.
Fix a loo millennium cistern – This cistern is complete garbage removed from box and found scuff marks and scratches all over the front, tried tightening seat bolts and the seat just keeps slipping fix a loo customer service help wanted nothing to do with it and were no help at all currently uninstalling and taking back to Bunnings for credit.
Fox a loo cistern inlet valve – Simply a very poor product. If you buy one keep your receipt as you will need it. 12 year warranty! The last 2 have lasted less than 2 years. Off to a specialist plumber to get the best.
Sink strainer plug – I recently installed Fix-a-Tap sink strainer plugs after trying some of the other popular brands, which all failed to seal the water in the sink. I am confident in recommending this product to anyone suffering the same fate. I now find I can fill the sink and walk away, to find on my return, the water is still there. No wasted water now. Thanks Fix-a-Tap!!
Rubbish didn’t last 1 – Rubbish didn’t last 1 year and didn’t shut off for like 5 mins whilst overflowing into the toilet bowl. Instructions were crap and just installed a fluidmaster . Instructions were a lot better and came with the nut for the valve stem. Hopefully it lasts more than a few years and I’ll be on a winner . Bunnings only had one type of inlet valve. Do yourselves a favour and go to tradelink. Had 3 different types and all similarly priced.
FIX-A-LOO Hush Flush Bottom Entry Cistern – Pathetic quality on seals. Over 3 years with 2 toilets at two different house locations have had 2 bathrooms flooded. The seals simply disintegrate (and have replaced a few times), they blow out after about 18mths & fail. My previous Caroma lasted 20years without a problem. I replaced to support the Australian industry, but this stuff is made in… Read more
Vietnam & is junk. Can’t believe the manufacturer has not fixed the product quality after all these years. It’s very noisy as well & requires the inlet valves to be trimmed way back to stop the noise. Takes forever to fill when you do this though.
A plumber’s dream with regular failures, this product will keep them in business. Not to mention the poor insurance companies paying out with flooding.
Do yourself a favour & buy a similar priced $20 Fluidmaster. USA designed & made in Mexico, but quality & performance much better. Super quiet & fast fill. Time will tell!
Rubbish !! FIX-A-LOO Hush Flush Bottom Entry Cistern – Poor quality that has a 12 year warranty & will never make more than 2 years without replacing the Rubber Head-seal Washer & then the top Membrane Washer fails which is not available & if you are not there when it fails you will flood your bathroom as a plastic pin comes out of place & the water sprays against the lid on your toilet reservoir, Why… Read more
they do not make these parts out of silicone rubber then it may have a chance of reaching the end of the warranty period. I will be spending the extra $5.00 & try the caroma quietflow inlet valve.
Terrible product: Hush Flush Fix-A-Loo cistern inlet valve – Installed easily enough however ongoing issues with it stopping and starting and I kept having to touch the valve with my fingers in order for it to kick start itself again back to life. For a few days I questioned whether my plumbing skills were terrible as I spent a couple of hours every day for about 5 days before returning to Bunnings which I… Read more
was refunded. Spent an extra $5.80 on a Caroma inlet valve which I installed in less than 5 minutes and all problems were solved.
Fixaloo cistern inlet fail – easy to install but you'll wish that you hadnt. Worked ok for only 1 day then wouldnt shut off. Nothing quiet about it either. Never buying a fixaloo product again.
Hush Flush Bottom Entry Cistern Inlet Valve – The loudest flush I've ever heard can't take it back now as its used in a toilet, what a joke to call it Hush Flush lf there was half a star they would have got it only reason I got it was the alleged quiet fill operation what a laugh
Utter Rubbish – I agree with jm99 completely! I went to Bunnings today to replace a faulty inlet valve (that had worked perfectly for about 18 years). There were a few products and I chose this one because of the warranty but mostly because it was from an Australian company. What a mistake that was! Replacing an inlet valve shouldn't be simpler. Just take… Read more
the old one out, fit the new one, turn the water on and adjust the level. As soon as I turned the water on after fitting the valve, water was going everywhere. I think a sieve would hold water better than this thing. It didn't matter how much or little I adjusted the tap on at the wall, this thing just leaked. When the shut-off valve kicked in, it leaked even more.
Dodgy as! It will go back to Bunnings next week. I think I saw a US engineered one and I should have just got that.
Poor product and poor customer service – Do not purchase from fix-a-tap, they will not honour the warranty on their products. We purchased a 'Fix-a-loo-Hush flush cistern inlet valve' After 2 months it malfunction and we had water damage through the house as a consequence. When I made a product complaint, they asked for all the documentation, receipts etc. This product has a 12 year… Read more
warranty, first the customer service implied that we installed it incorrectly, I then provided the plumber receipt, then they said the plumber installed it incorrectly. On the packaging they claim it can be a DIY product. After I sent the receipt from plumber, customer service person said that their products never malfunction plumber must have installed it incorrectly. Statistically 1 in a batch can malfunction. I suggested they come and look at their expense. A snide remark was made and customer service officer said we would have to cover the cost. We were not refunded the cost of the Fix-a-loo (from Bunnings) $20 or compensated for damages.
For a product that they claim has a 12 year warranty very poor. Disappointing when we should be supporting Australian companies that such an attitude exists.
Do not buy "FIX-A-LOO" from FIX-A-TAP Australia, the customer service is not acceptable and the warranty makes false claim. Please take note no product manufacture is perfect. I am only one customer and you may think it does not matter because you have many other customers but that is the flaw in your customer service policy.
