Fix & Fogg Almond Everything

Chunky crunchy heaven – This is a product lovers of smooth nut butters should strenuously avoid. I like crunchy & chunky, and this Almond Everything almond butter is perfect. It’s a base of crunchy almond butter with added *whole* sunflower, pumpkin & sesame seeds that you can see and taste. In fact, the bottle boasts “7 nuts & seeds” and “over 200 almonds in every jar”.

The label lists added sea salt but no added sugars, so I suppose the sweetness is from the natural sugars in the nuts and seeds. With some almond butters, I find I need to add a little jam or honey when I use it on toast to prevent the annoying, hard to dislodge stuck-to-the-roof feeling in my mouth. Surprisingly, this almond+ mix wasn’t cloggy. It was also easier to stir and disperse the oil layer in a freshly opened jar. With some pure nut butters, stirring half set cement might be easier.

Any cons? Well, it’s not Aussie (made in NZ) and it is pricey at $8.50 for 275 gm.

However, the label says the company is “Living wage accredited” - I googled and found: "A Living Wage is the income necessary to provide workers and their families with the basic necessities of life. A living wage will enable workers to live with dignity and to participate as active citizens in society” - and also donates to City Missions and Women’s Refuges.

So … I will continue to buy this when my budget permits as I do love the crunch and the not too salty, not too sweet taste.
