Flex Seal Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: 1467Can I spray flexiseal on to a piano hinge and then move the hinge when it dries
I have not personally tried to do this so am not certain of the answer. However, while Flexseal (as the name suggests) will stretch to a degree there must be a limit to how far it will stretch without tearing. If the piano hinge only has to flex 90 degrees you may get away with it but 180 degrees may be too much.
Will it seal fibreglass on a caravan witch has been joined with silicone
Yes. But be sure to apply one coat and let dry completely (24hrs). If you get a reaction it will likely settle and not react with final coats.
Can Flex seal be applied to a tin roof in the rain to stop leaks The directions say clean and dry, but that is a bit hard to achieve when it rains for days on end.
I agree Bill B, I had a similar problem but I waited until it stopped raining then I fixed the leaks in my gutter, I have always found it is no good using a product if you do not follow the directions because people will always say the product is no good, for me it is a brilliant product and has fixed my leaks and I have used it on a number of smaller things, hope you get good results.
It has been raining for a week with no end in site, so waiting for it to dry is not an option I was seeking an answer for a flex seal technician.
When it rains constantly for 4 days or more, rain penetrates my downstairs bedroom, (which used to be a garage) through the expansion rubber between the house and the concrete pathway. The pathway goes up on an angle, so the floor of this room wall could at some point be 300mm below the concrete pathway. Which product would be best for sealing this project which is 8metres long. I need easy, no mess. I saw that in the USA they have the paint, Is this available in Australia
has anyone used this in a bathroom? We have a leak in our shower basin
Hi, I've not personally fixed a shower, but this kind of thing is what Flex Seal was made for.
Has anybody used on stitching on caravan awning?
Hi Elaine, it wouldn't be the best product for this application. Flex Tape might be a better choice.
Thank you for your honest reply.
Paint lifting on bottom of pool. Can Flex seal be used with water in the pool.
I have no idea. Used for another type of job.
Hi John, yes you can use it underwater
I live in the North East of Tasmania in a damp and cold area. Does it set in cooler climates ?
Has anybody tried it to make a garden shed waterproof?
yes it can be done just how difficult it is depends how big a gap but i did mine and it worked.
Will it stop leaks if applied to the outside of a concrete water tank
The price is 5 x $6.99 ($34.95) + $9.95 P&H Is this 5 cans for $34.95?
This is for one can - the five payments relate to the afterpay or instalmentbasis.
It’s 5 payments of $6.99 for one can plus $9.95 postage. That’s $44.90 for one can. Big W sells it for $34.95 a can
Your add doesn't specify 5 payments. I took it as 5 cans. I do not recommend this product to anyone.
Does this Flex Seal spray stick to silicone sealants already present eg the Selleys "Roof & Gutter" type sealant?
Does Flex Seal spray stick to pre-existing silicone sealants; eg the Selleys "Roof & Gutter" type of sealant?
I applied it over existing sealant with no problems. Just make sure the sealant is clean, dry and free of dust before you apply the flexiseal.
Like Roger, I bought it to seal a concrete pool crack but had second thoughts about chemical extraction from it and contamination of the pool water ,have you any information on it re this matter, had intended to leave pool waterless until flex seal had completely dried Bazza H
Flexseal is it any good
I used it as I was getting water come into my garage when it rained heavily. I sprayed it along the inside where the wall meets the floor and although there have been a number of heavy downpours since, not a drop has come through.
Hi, how this site allow people to write reviews with 4 or 5 stars that say they haven't tried the product yet. Seriously ?
I have a concrete swimming pool with a slight crack which I think I lose water through..would it work on this by applying to inside of pool?
Hi Roger, this could work but it depends on how far down the crack is. If it has a lot of weight pressing on it you might not get the a full seal
Thank you.....It’s only a hairline crack but is probably deep as I’m sure I lose wter through it......I will give it a go....
Could you please let me know if the product is heat resistant and to what degrees.
Hi, Flex Seal is resistant up to around 180 degrees celcius
